Need a good 6 button Dreamcast controller
Does anyone know of a good Dreamcast controller that has the trigger buttons mapped to the TOP of the controller? A fighting pad might be ok but i need the 3D directional for other games.
Is there any kind of controller like this that is easy to get ahold of?
Thanks.

Well it's been a while since I've thought about this and I haven't actually used any of these pads but here are some options from a few searches... and I'm assuming that by the "3D directional" bit, you meant that you prefer the controller to have an analog stick.
These are what I found just over at amazon.com...
Interact Quantum Fighter Pad (though I read that the extra buttons are mapped to 'a' and 'x' instead of the shoulders so this pad is out)
Mad Catz Dream Pad (does have the analog stick and reviews at amazon aren't too bad)
Naki Advanced Controller (not much info on this one)
There were also some options from Blaze, Pelican, Hais, and Nyko that didn't seem too promising that were listed on other websites.
Personally, I'd forget about the analog stick and go for one of the Sega Saturn controller style pads, but if the stick is a must have, then I'd give the Mad Catz a shot. The best price that I found was $29.95 via some folks at amazon though. Seems a bit much considering what you can get a Dreamcast console for nowadays...

ASCII Pad = Saturn Style controller for Dreamcast.. no analog, but for games that don't use it (or need it) it's the best controller. The D-Pad on the DC controller is LETHAL for prolounged play (fighting games, shooter games).. I had a scar on my thumb from the cut it gave me for MONTHS.

The Dreamcast ASCII pads certainly have a good reputation. If you have actual Saturn controllers, there were also adapters for using those on the Dreamcast.
If you're looking for PS to DC adapters, I believe there were a bunch of the Total Control models listed at www.lik-sang.com. There's also one listed at www.buyritegames.com, though I can't remember if they were the importer with the bad reputation or not. www.dcslinks.com also seems to have one of these models.

Haven't found Ascii pads online or elsewhere in a looooong time. I like the Saturn controller more though, the D-pad on the Ascii pad is a little too loose.
The Saturn controller is the best controller ever.

Amen to that, Saturn controller is the best.....I never understand people who hate the Sega 6 configuration, and chose the SNES 4/2 or the N64 camera/A-B controller over the Sega Analog Saturn pad...
