X-BOX Holiday Bundle 159.95 at Toys-R-Us

I went in expecting to pay the usual $179.95 for the Holiday Bundle that includes 2 months XBOX LIVE, Tetris, and SW: Attack of the Clones and found a little sticker with $159.95. Manager said that was next weeks price so it doesn't sound like a Black Friday deal. Anyhow, she gave me the sale price.

Good Luck! Hope this is nation-wide!

I'll probably be kicking myself for not waiting 'till Black Friday to see the deals.

i actually think it is illegal to lower the price of a ps2 or xbox without a national promotion plan. If MS hears about this, they could end distribution with the entire chain. This is why stores always bundle in games, that practice is kosher, lowering the price of the console is not.

It's much funnier when you threaten to call "shenanigans"...

(i've never had the guts to actually follow through with this threat)

It says taken, does that mean you stole it?

No, seriously, was it $179 and they adjusted the price? That is what it looks like.

Yea, they adjusted the price because the sale hadn't started yet (according to the manager) so they gave me the sale price anyway since it was dispayed at the store.

Well I worked Wednesday and yesterday at my store, in the R-Zone, putting out new product and adjusting prices and we didn't get any notes or anything about the Xbox going on sale or the price lowering or anything. So this may be a YMMV kind of deal. Which I find kind of strange, because we almost NEVER put the hardware on sale. EVER. It's usually a bundle of some kind when we have a sale. Technically, we only make like $2 on each Xbox, so I don't see where putting them $20 cheaper is doing us any favors.

X

That reminds me of something funny...I was talking on AIM with my friend a few months back, and he's a total WC3/D2 bnet freak. So he sprinkles in l33t with all the bnet speak and it's friggin' funny. He kept saying pwned when he'd beat me in a game of pool, or whatever. I beat him one day and I shouted "POWNED!!" and it has become a new word in our conversations,

I just thought it was funny that I had accidentally added the "O" in the word

Well, just got back from Toys-R-Us and the XBOX deal that I got was not happening. However, I did see a sticker last week that clearly said $159.99 (afterall , that's what I got it for) so perhaps this deal will materialize on Black Friday.

Or maybe I just got lucky through some strange set of events. Anyhow, back to playing XBOX!

Was it a normal Toys R Us price sticker or was it a promotional sticker with pictures on it and stuff?
