Played one game last night... some noticable changes:

• No DK as a player
• Added Toad, Boo and Koopa Kid as players
• Capsules replace Items
• Cost $$$ to use capsules
• DK has his own spaces and themed mini-games
• Toad's a player because the Stars are in charge
• Boards are HUGE!
• The "?" spaces do different things on the same board
• Duels are back
• No big Genie... replaced by the Wiggler (capsule)
• ... and a few others

Pretty cool game... worth the upgrade from MP4.

I bought the last one as a blind buy and didn't care for it. The worst part was my buddies from worked loved the game and always wanted to come over and play very loooooooong games. The one always played as DK and he's been on me about buying the new version.

I told him I won't buy it but if he rents it he can play it at my place some night. Now without DK he might not be as into it.

Was never really into the game.. it's fun but takes like a YEAR to play an entire game with 4 people.
