A very special Oprah - Are You Addicted To Video Games ?

Her Oprahness wants to expose the awful truth about game addiction -

https://www.oprah.com/plugger/templa...ugId=B75500004

"Are You Addicted To Video Games

Has an addiction to video games complicated your life or your child's life? How many hours do you or your child spend each day playing video games? Is playing videos games affecting your social life? Do you experience feelings of anger or withdrawal when not playing video games? Do you use the fantasy life of video games to escape from your worries and troubles? If you would like to tell us your story, you MUST be willing to be video taped for a series of days. Please do not respond to this plug unless you are willing to be ON TELEVISION."

Do you think they'd charter one jet, and fly around the country picking us up ?

For the record, I found the link at GameSpot

I saw an awful "news report" on the 700 Club like this, and watched it out of grim fascination. Reported something along the lines of...

Video Gamers 56 times more likely to become child molestors - greater risk of becoming liberal - 98% of Video Gamers under the age of 36 have had sexual intercourse multiple times - etc..etc...

I wonder if Grand Theft Auto will be mentioned!??!

Does the woman even play them herself? It would be a better show if she had something to relate. Like a rampant desire to play "The Sims" rather than film her show.

Is your wife addicted to Oprah??

Is your wife addicted to Oprah? Has Oprah addiction complicated you or your family's life? Has a bizarre obsession with the Oprah Winfrey Show led to decreased family time? Does your wife say "Girl-Friend" an inordinate amount of times a day? Has your wife's obsession with Oprah compelled her to drag you to Dr. Phil book signings? Does she spend an exorbitant amount of money on O Magazine subscriptions and other useless crap she peddles on that sham of a talk show? Then call 1-555-No-MA'AM right now and you can be a guest.

Help is just a phone call away.

wow, and I thought playing video games automatically reduced the amount of sex that occurred, (just haven't put together if it is due to time spent playing video games instead of pursuing sex or if playing games is just displaying another nerdy trait and that underlying personality issue is the sex limiting factor )

That used to be the case, until vibrating controllers were introduced.

Wait a minute...

...the study shows that 98% of video gamers under the age of 36 have had multiple sexual intercourse???

Hello??? 36 years old!!! Isn't that pretty much past the age where you SHOULD have had multiple sexual encounters??? Pat Robertson of the 700 Club must've been wiggling his own joystick since he couldn't find some girl willing to put up with his "I Am God's Messenger" syndrome.

Pretty lame, since it's on kids.

That's true, why concentrate on kids , that's a boring story as hell. Everquest would make a great topic for Oprah, I procrastinate to play EQ and I'm addicted but yet, some who play make me look like a casual player. I've met people in game who have actually burnt out in RL because of problems in the game. I've also met countless who divorced and have no job who play daily. They seem to lose themself in that game totally.

Forget about little Timmy who failed his test because he played too much PS2, concentrate on the wife who lost her job, family and burnt out because she got hooked on Everquest.

I guess the 700 Club is saying that its wrong for people who play video games to have kids....even if they are in thier 30's.

I'm suprised we have the time to discuss this subject inbetween the long hours of gaming and the endless sex.

And I'm addicted to oxygen, i admit it. I LOVE the stuff! Can't get enough!

I feel bad for the kids who's parents will watch this, they can kiss their consoles goodbye .

Speaking of oxygen, maybe Oprah should do a report on the dangerous liquid known as Dihydrogen monoxide which kills thousands of innocent people each year.
