Papyrus NASCAR vs EA NASCAR

For the last year, I have been racing EA F1 2002. I tried Infogames Grand Prix 4. But I think EA F1 2002 provided a more realistic simulation for Formula 1 racing. Especially in car physics.
I am going to try a NASCAR simulation. From the reviews I have read, Papyrus NASCAR 2003 Season is the premier NASCAR sim.
EA has just released their NASCAR Thunder 2004. Has anyone tried EA's Thunder 2004 and Papyrus 2003 Season? Which does provide the more realistic NASCAR simulation? Which one should I buy? Or both?
The wheel I am using is the MOMO Force.

I cant say much about Thunder since i dont have it but ive always played papy's nascar games and i love NR2003 and there are lots of cool mods for it out now like trucks, tracks and other cool stuff upcoming.I havent heard too many good things about Thunder 2004 but i do like EA's F1 Challenge which i thought was a nice step up from F1 2002.

Only bad thing i can say about NR2003 is that unless you have a high end system you wont be able to run the game with full graphics on, other than that its awesome

I think I read some where that Papyrus would no longer be making NASCAR games as they had given up the expensive license?

I've never seriously played any racing games. Could a person who is not really into racing pick up and play these? I assume playing with one of the steering wheels would make it a lot better?

Yep this was Papy's last nascar game as EA has aquired the exclusive rights to the liscense which is really sad although with all the mods and multiplayer NR2003 will have a long life much like Papy's Grand Prix legends has.

As far as picking up and playing the game i would say if you have a wheel or even a gamepad(logitech rumblepad comes to mind) you can play the game as it is customizable to each persons skill level but trying to drive with a keyboard is a serious challenge and just aint as much fun

Papyrus's games made EA's offering look like monkey #$%@. Sorry to see them lose the license.
