Let us know how the league is going. I'd be up for joining it but my time is kind of tight right now.

well, it's not really a league per se. they'll have a season of about 10 tournaments including the grandslam. as long as you're registered at the site, you can sign up for the tourneys you want to participate in. i'm going to miss the Aussie Tourney b/c i'll be on vacation.

the good thing is that they keep great records, scoring, etc so it's not pen & paper.

some of those guys are really good though.

Hmm, maybe I'll get online this weekend, then. I have to run a cable from my bedroom to my living room to play online, so it's not something I want to deal with just to play for a little bit. (I'm lazy.)

What I did to make it more convenient is to buy 2 cables and leave 1 plugged into my router and 1 plugged into my XBox. Then I use a double female jack to have them meet in the middle. It saves me from having to mess around with pulling out my gear from the racks. I leave each cable coiled and hidden when not in use. That way it takes all of 15 secs to get on Live.

Just a thought.

Wireless costs more money and is slower overall on my PC LAN.

50' cable is a hassle because you have to pull gear out to plug it in everytime, unless you run it permanently in wall or under house which is not possible in my house. Theater is a looooong way from my PC.

Buy you are Young so I guess it will make sense to you as you get Older!

I already paid $50 for X-Box Live and I barely use it... I'm not spending an extra $100, even though the gagdet geek in me says "Buy it! Buy it! Buy it!" A 25' cable was much cheaper.

I may try the double-female connector that Ginsu suggested.

I'm having a hell of a time with the second serve star. I've gone ahead and gotten most of the other starts but I'm leaving the last few for serves.

Anyone got any tips on aiming serves. It seems like I either push the stick too (not even all the way) and it goes out or not far enough and it's right down the middle.

HELP!

yes, use the dpad to fine tune the controls instead of the stick.

I posted about this on the second page. Choosing the right innate abilities and skills seemed to make a big difference.

The trick is not to start aiming until you are into the serve animation. Don't move the analog stick until after you have already started your serve with 'A' or whatever button and just aim laterally for the time being. Also, your serve will be more accurate the more powerful your swing.

I could not get that second serve star either until I changed my serve tactics and now I can do it on the first try every time.

Judging from the way I manage to volley a ball once or twice during a whole match, I don't think you'll have any trouble

If I play anything like the way I play tennis in real life, then it won't be pretty.

Because in those you actually have to know about the sport to play.

Alright, the long cable did the trick, and I'm online with Top Spin now, in case anyone wants to challenge Cap'n Morgan.
