New EB's and Gamestop's opening in your area?

Has anyone else noticed a rash of new Eb's and Gamestops opening in your area? I've had about 3 EB's and 2 Gamestops open within about 5 miles of me in the past 3 months. This may not seem like alot, but these stores are opening within a mile or two of already existing EB's and Gamestops! There is not a video game store in just about every shopping center or strip mall near me! I'm not complaining, becuase it gives me more locations to scour when deals happen!

Has anyone else seen a proliferation of new stores recently?

They're all over the place here in Dallas/Plano. According to thier website there are exactly 20 Gamestop's within 10 miles of my apartment.

Theres 13 Gamestop stores within 13 miles of my house. Hmm, what a bad number.

Anyways, yeah they've been popping up everywhere around here. I remember walking into Gamestop once and one of the employees was like "Yeah, we're going to be like 7-11, everywhere!"

Its not bad though, everytime I walk into one of the newer stores I find rare games like Tactics Ogre, and Ogre Battle, realtively cheap when you see what they go for on Ebay.

I'd say it's a bad thing.. I'm none too fond of them.. but nice to go and window shop, evry once in a while they'll have a nice NES or SNES game I want that's not 3x it's value.

6 days = Married with Children box set.

1 Gamestop near me, but no EB's. I wish some would more would open up, it'd give that lone gamestop some competition and maybe they will start treating people like they are human beings and not wandering wallets.

How do you find out if a new EB or Gamestop is opening in your area? They usually have raffles for a console or something for the grand opening...or so I heard.

We had a new EBGames open about 4 months ago, and driving to work today I seen another new one in a strip mall next to Best Buy. That brings our total to 4. We have never had a Gamestop (Software Etc. left town ages ago).

It used to be a strange thing seeing one of these outside of the confines of a mall but not anymore.

They probably have one of the highest profits/sq. feet of any store. They have such little overhead and only have to hire a few people.

There are 2 Gamestops within 5 mins of me with a third one opening soon and 1 game stop within the same 5 mins of my location here in the Eastside of Houston, TX.

Also have 2 Game Crazy's in the same distance. I even live in the ghetto side of town.

Yeah, we just had an EB Games open in Manhattan. I hardly go though because I was somewhat disappointed.
