I inadvertantly setup my L1 button to be another button (x) in a attempt to make the L1 a autofire. How can I reset the controller?

what brand of controller???? i assume it is for a psx or ps2

In a specific game? Most games have the ability to change the controller configuration, but it is usually game specific.

Need a little more info.

When I get home, I will post more info about the brand. It is for a PS2 and I went into mode to try to make my L1 button an autofire button but somehow mad it my x button. Just trying to figure out how to reset it back.
