I still can't figure out what the reward is for doing them. I've finished all the BIG challenges on Peak 1 & 2 and a couple on peak 3 and so far, nothing. I'm afraid to finish them all, because if I spend all that energy and there is now reward, then I just might get the urge to smash my PS2 into little, tiny pieces.

Ugh.. Can you give me some advice on the one in Peak 1 on Super Pipe where you have to break the glass panes? I simply CANNOT do it.. and what's worse is it said "Glass Break I" which means I have to do it 3 times.

There's another one on Peak 1 that's driving me bonkers but I know how to do it I just keep screwing up, that's the one that made me post my angst the other night. It's the 3rd gate race on the Neo City bottom race, where you have to go through 36 gates in 2:45, I've made it within milliseconds several times, but mostly just keep missing on of the freaking ones you have to jump through.

Oh yeah.. the DJ for this game sucks BALLS. Deleted... figure out another word to use to describe something you don't like other than "gay" or "ghey." - Static I want to punch him.

I had a few problems with the glass breaking one because it pretty tough to actually see the panes you are supposed to break. Too bad there's no way to zoom the camera out during gameplay. Anyway, the way I did it is to keep a steady angle through the pipe after the first one. As long as you don't aim too steep or too shallow, you should be ok. And if you miss one, just head back up the pipe a bit and try again. Also don't do any stunts. It's tough because your natural reaction is to do stunts, but doing that and boosting too much generally makes you fly over the glass panes. Wait till you have to go through the hoops on peak 2's super pipe!

Also you can turn off the DJ if you want by going into the audio menu and using your custom playlist.

For the glass break ones, I noticed that the panes are located inline with the lines in the halfpipe. Just try and stay on those lines when your lining up a jump. I'm sorry if that doesn't make sense but I don't know how else to explain it. The next ones are harder as the panes are higher, and I think there are more of them.

Peak 2 has a simliar challenge, except your going through hoops instead of breaking galss. It sucks just as much though.

For the gate race, try and do tricks whenever you get a chance and build up your boost. That one took me awhile too, I would always run out of time just before the very last gate. If you're going fast enough, you'll barely have to jump.

For me, it was a matter of just doing it over and over and over until I had pretty much memorized all the specific angles I needed to use to get the 1st 3 panes in the first 3 jumps. After that, it was just a matter of lining up right for the last four.
Also, once you finish it and there's no time limit, I found it was a good opportunity to snag some extra cash by doing tricks over and over until I got bored.

Well I beat the first glass one.. I quickly gave up on the second cause I'm sure it would've infuriated me to no end.

How far have people come on the little snowflake collectibles? I think I'm missing less than 10 for Peak 1.

I've got 3 Platinum medals so far.

Time to bump an old one.

Like a fool I skipped buying SSX3 and I bought Amped 2. I loved Tricky and got fed up with Amped very fast but I was hoping that having the game be online would help me enjoy it more.

I caved the other day and ordered SSX3.

I almost ordered the GC version but then I watched the IGN video head to head and saw there aren't enough buttons on the controller. I thought about the PS2 version but I hardly play it and it I did hop online I would want to deal with the 56k folk when I go online.

Now.....I can barely move my hands. I was up very late last night playing and as soon as I got up I went right back to it. At first I wasn't sure how to make money and that ticked me off. Now I'm doing races left and right to make all the money I need.

The Ubers and Super Ubers are very impressive. I love watching replays and slowing them down so I can get a better look.

When I first got Tricky I played it so much the first night I unlocked all the characters. I'm glad this one has even more stuff. I kinda wish there were custom soundtracks but the music isn't too bad this time around. I think if it was online it would be my favorite XBOX game. Since EA is seeing the light maybe it'll happen when we hit the slopes in the next version.

Yeah.. I still pull this game out and play it. It's amazing. I really did not think they could've improved the game THIS much from Tricky. I've let a friend borrow it now and he's hooked as well. When Tricky first came out I pretty much suckered all my friends into that game.. it was pretty crazy. I rented the game based on the fact that the commerical featured Run DMC and a child with an afro, needless to say I was happy that commerical triggered my interest.

I actually played last night for the first time in at least a month. I got pissed off trying to complete the Gravitude Big Challenge getting through all 44 gates, so I gave up. Popped in the game last night and did it on the first try heh, of course the bastards makes you go through them 2 more times. I did it once and again got pissed off trying to get through them in the alotted time on the 3rd challenge so I gave up and shelved the game again. Gravitude is downright sadistic with those challenges. I wanna get 100% with 1 character but I'm not about to get frustrated with that damn challenge, so I probaby won't play the game anymore.

This games kicks some serious ass... i love the avalanches.

Any word on how to get some more bills? I haven't beaten to much stuff on peak 3, but will I be rewarded handsomely?

It's ok, but I honestly don't think it's that great. Maybe an 8 out 10. The best things to do on the mountain are the trick and race events--the challenges are so tedious that they're not even fun to play. The mountains aren't as big as advertised (you go out of bounds constantly), and the end runs on each mountain are simply the little races all taped together to make on big race. How original. At the core, there's very little game here--You could probably finish the game in 6 to 8 hours (races and trick events) if they didn't make you do those 1/2 hour long runs down the mountain. If you're the type of person who likes to unlock everything, than SSX is for you. If you like playing through a game and beating it (and then play something else), then SSX isn't really worth it.

Maybe part of this is brought up by my last two racing/ski purchases, amped 2 and project gotham 2. SSX3 feels really subpar in terms of value compared to those two games.

I too thought that for a game that had the title Out Of Bounds....it seems like I go out of bounds all the time. Is that what they meant by the title?

I know that no matter how much fun I have with this game I will never get 100% on even half on the characters. I don't have this kind of time to invest in a game no matter how much I enjoy it.

I know I'm late, but now that school's out and I actually have some time, I'm going to pick up this game for only 30 dollars. Yay for me.

I've played both SSX3 and Amped 2. Both are very good.
