Replay value on the PC version of Freedom Fighters is probably a lot less than the console version since there is no multiplayer mode on the PC (yeah I know, it doesn't make sense). Although there is usually more than one way to tackle every mission. Different routes to follow and quite a bit of good sniping positions to find.

John Spartan, we're talking about the PC version of Halo here, which came out about 2 weeks AFTER the PC version of Freedom Fighters; a game which hasn't had nearly as much time or money thrown at it. The only reason Half-Life 2 was mentioned was cause someone said that you can't improve on the FPS genre much more than Halo did. No hard feelings about this rant though. Different Strokes for different folks.

I cannot see why HALO is being praised soo much, its apparently the BEST game on the X Box! crikey they must have a lot of crap games then, Halo is fine and well, but far from a game that anyone needs to own, it has some great ideas and many bad ones, it looks like an old game, the character animation and models are basic to say the least, in fact they are crap, when the cut scenes kick in they really look appauling, very half life looking, and that was quite a while ago, compared to the bots in UNREAL 2003 they look abysmal in every way, but the out doors levels do look nice, indoors are less impressive, but none of these factors stop the game being fun and worth playing, it just doesnt deserve soo much praise, you wont feel ripped off I dont think, but if you go in expecting something not to change the world, then fine. But X Box owners really need to calm down as its not that good. On a PC it looks and plays better, and still it isnt as good as they and many others make out.

Return to Castle Wolvenstein is far better in every way, and that came out a long time ago.

I disagree, RTCW was fun, but not as fun as Halo. Also, Halo isn't the best game on Xbox, one of the best, but not the best. At least in my opinion.

well, I played some CTF online Halo last night and it was a blast... I love that feeling of teamwork that comes with 3 of you in a Warthog, guns blazing. Maybe Halo got hyped (and is certainly not the only game with that charge), but IMO, it's FAR from a stinker.

The online aspect must be great, 3 in a warhog action, sound great fun, I dont have broadband so cannot play online, but it sounds as if it could be a lot of fun using vehicles, I guess I will have to wait for Unreal2004 for action like that, or wait until I get broadband.

to anyone that has played Halo on Xbox & complained about the bad graphics: did you play it on a EDTV or HDTV in 480p? If not, it's like complaining about how bad a PC game looks by blaming it on the game instead of your crappy video display equipment.

Well the actual graphics aint up to much, indoors look poor, the charecters are poory made and are basic compared to most, but out doors and vehicles are looking fine, its just an old looking game, for its time it was fine, but even Wolvenstein looked far better in evey department, and it ran perfectly on higest setting too. and the PC version has appaerntly been spruced up a bit for the PC, better lighting and shading.

Wolfenstein is a lousy comparison. I played all the way through and beat the PC version, and while the graphics were decent (I couldn't optimize on my machine), the story was hardly all that and even the enemies didn't have that much variety. The enemies in Halo were interesting, different and had great AI. Much better challenge (esp. at higher difficulties) than RTCW.

Yup the enemies in Wolfie werent massivly inteligent, but the story was just as simple as Halo, I will say Halos story is pretty simple, but its a good idea, Wolfie had a basic almost non existant plot, I agree on that. I didnt find the bad guys in Halo very intresting most of the time you fight the same few guys over and over agin, it took a while for any variation top come into the game for me, the Flood changed it nicley.

I suppose higer difficulty levels are a thing that creeps into many games, some are imposable on the high settings, I found Halo very hard on the hardest level, sometimes I would just run out of ammo as it took ages to kill some of the buggers in it. resorting to the but of the gun hapened a lot on the hard level thats for sure.
