I think you can push the R button to show what skills you will get from the weapon.

tanman I figured it out some hours before you posted. Saw it at Gamefaqs. It's so easy yet so unintuitive Thanks

I almost wet my pants. I'm a third of the way through (at 29 hours plus) and when
Spoiler:
double Marche came out and the whole thing about everyone has to want to go back
man that was awesome. It's like a soap opera There are so many things to do - get all items, all jobs (I got my moogles and my bangaas with all their jobs - 4 party members to go), all A-abilities, get everyone to level 50... there are so many things. I'm immensely enjoying this game. If Onimusha Tactics is like this, and Fire Emblem... man that's good gaming coming up.

Allright, How do you use antilaws? I have a couple of cards but how do I activate them. Are they a one time use thing? or can you use them as many times as you want?

The story is getting awesome!

I'm 22 hours and 73 missions complete now. Yes, the story does really seem to be getting better and better with every major mission. I'm going to need to do some more of the side clan battles to level up my characters though.

I "beat it" at 30+ hours and 125 missions.

Save 1 has the game at the point where I dismissed most of my clan (except my main 8) so I could leave just a Moggle. Then I dismissed a Viera and the moogle became my 8th. Since Marche and Montblanc can't go on side Missions, I needed one of each of the five races.

So save 2 was MUCH more advanced and once you get to the final few missions (story-wise), there's no room to save for quite a while. When the credits were rolling I decided that if I couldn't complete the missions I had left, I would probably not pick up the first save for a long while, if ever. I was going to be MAJORLY ticked off (in Golden Sun once you beat it you can't complete the side missions you missed, for example).

But I was VERY please when, after beating it, it saved the game "in the most recently used" save slot and put me back on the map to finish whatever it is that I want to finish. I still have to get all the items, all the jobs, all the A-abilities, and all the missions I haven't done, so I have quite a while to go.

The story was VERY good until the ending. It was VERY flat. BTW who was
Spoiler:
the boy with the straight blond hair who tells Ritz that wow her hair is really white? I thought it was Marche but I think I saw him in another scene with his wild hair, not neat like that boy).

So a little disappointed with the way it ended but I was on the edge of my seat while I got to it.

I'm at 36 hours and 150 missions. Whew

I'm going to have to do it all over again, though, because I was reading the strategy guide and there are some things I missed (special weapons, etc).

Also there are extra missions that are only accessible if you link up

Some things that have happened since I "beat" it are very cool. I'm having a blast. The story continues even after the ending.

Well I finished it today and did a few of the side missions after the ending.

I ended up at 42 hrs 32min and cleared 201 missions.

Very good game overall. There were a few things that could have been better, but I credit Square for making the game better and better as it went along. Its also nice that I can keep playing it even after finishing it. It was nice having this game to play for the seven freaking hours I had to sit while my wife was in labor before she got around to having my daughter. (Yeah I had the tough part)

Spoiler:
I also like that some of the other characters in the game join your party after you beat it.

Quick quesition. Are the "non-main" characters in your party dead for good if they die and you finish a battle and save like in the original?

That drove me nuts. Spend hours leveling up, say a black mage. Spend hours on a tough battle, black mage dies, so you have to decide to either try the battle again, or spend hours again building up a black mage.

If they die and you don't revive them in a battle without a judge they are gone for good. However, these battles only happen in the Jagd zones and there are only three of those total. Any battle with a judge and they will be okay even if the battle ends and they are dead.

Grats on the birth of your daughter!
Thanks!

Cool. I might have to check this out. In the original it was like that in every battle, there were no judges or whatever, if I remember correctly.

When was she born?

My cousin just had twins @ 3:00 and 3:45 am. October third. They induced her at about 9:00....am. Pretty long.

dumb question.

if you fail a dispatch mission, do you get another opportunity at a later date to do it again?

i've failed countless... so i started a new game, and i'm at like 12 hours 44ish missions in the hole. too many damned random battle.

Okay I am majorly ticked off and majorly frustrated with this game. I want to hurl it against a wall.

I have 248 missions. I can't do any more because for ALL new available missions, I'm missing at least one item. I've cycled all moons more than two times and gone to all pubs, listened to all rumors (including Ezel's), and done the clan wars about 10 times. I've done the swimming meet, the mage tourney.

ARGH. How do I get moving?

Can't your GameShark help you?

j/k

Seriously I think that you are the most advanced on this game.
