Ghost Recon or Island Thunder?

Since both Xbox games will be on sale for the same $29.99 price next week, I was wondering if I could have a recommendation. Which one is better to get? I know the original lists for $10 more; is it a more complete games? As I am planning on playing Live, which one is currently more popular online? Thanks.

I'm not sure about the original, but there are people playing Island Thunder online now. It even has the most popular multiplayer maps from the original.

See sig for my choice.

I was going to ask the same. Should I get the first one or the newer one?

I haven't played online much with either one (yet).

For single player, I'd say Ghost Recon. There isn't much to Island Thunder's single player game. It's shorter and there's less to unlock in terms of guns.

Both games are online which is all I care about. I intend on getting both games eventually, but given the choice between the two I'd get Island Thunder. I just love urban settings for squad-based games.

I loved the maps on G.R. European terrain, City streets, buildings etc.. Does I.T. have the same kinds of maps or is it mostly jungle?

FYI there was a bug in G.R. that made BOTH players have the same controller setup. If one of you wanted INVERTED then both of you had it and vice versa.

Where and when is Island Thunder going to be on sale for $29.99?

It it a sale at a certain store or is it a price drop across the board?

I love Ghost Recon and have been waiting for a good price to pick up I.T.

I agree with Gromit. Island thunder is better for online playing right now since it's newer and most ppl will want to play that version. Plus, I.T. does have fan favorites multi-player maps from the original G.R.

The original G.R. does have a better single player because it's a bit longer and more stuff to do in quick mission mode in order to unlock stuff.

I like both and have both version but will probably ebay off the original version. I pricematched island thunder from kmart at circuit city when kmart had it for 29.99 on sale a couple of weeks ago. I dont know who's have a sale on it right now though.

There are at least two urban maps of which I'm aware. The maps are predominantly jungle; there is a nice mix of mountains and beach terrain in there as well.
