I saw Kill Bill a little bit earlier, and it has inspired me to track down the last few pieces of the mossy garden theme. If anyone has the deer scare or the garden pond and wouldn't mind sending it, Scott in Spiketon would appreciate it. :D

Sherbz 10-18-03 09:42 AM

Deer Scare for Scott in Spiketon:
b O Q j q 9 C p w A d k z #
b e 8 m Y W w 5 u i q @ 2 O

I'm not sure if the Os are correct, so you might have to try it with 0 (zero).

sdcrym 10-18-03 12:18 PM

Awesome!! Thanks!

PixyJunket 10-18-03 08:15 PM

HA!! THe first time I saw Kill BIll, during that scene the first thing I said was "Holy crap!! I have one of those in Animal Crossing!!"

Something I'd like to mention here, the way Animal Crossing does these codes, the capital O's and zeros are interchangable to avoid confusion. Smart move on their part, I thought.

Leroy is Zebes could really use a wide screen TV. :D

Ditto with 1's and lower case L's.

I'm gonna start playing today, as soon as I fully wake up. Being unemployed will have it's benefits for this game at least :).

Lucky you!! I got a mail yesterday saying Nook would be seeling rare furniture from 3-4 today and I was thinking "Bastard!! I'll be at work!! Maybe I can leave early and pretend to be sick.."

PixyJunket 10-20-03 09:00 AM

Here's a tip in case anybody starting up is having trouble getting animals to "understand" your letters. I have found that if you write long letters they will almost always understand them. Try 5 or 6 line letters. We were always baffled when we would send letters like "Hi! Please take a shirt!" and they would reply that they didn't understand.

Quake1028 10-20-03 01:16 PM

Alrighty, played about 3 hours so far, and I like it! The only thing that pisses me off at this point is how tedious the letter writing is. Does it support anykind of keyboard? I finished working for Nook, and only owe around $14k on my first mortgage. Not bad at all. Since I have an AR, I will be able to get some games, and I also got the Soccer code from the website. Man, those 3 hours flew by. Well, gotta play some more.

PixyJunket 10-20-03 01:34 PM

Yes.. I've been told the GC keyboard DOES work for Animal Crossing. I would reccomend only using the AR to get the 6 NES games you can't get through normal means.. obviously any other type of cheating on this game would really blow it's purpose. But to each thier own, I guess there's a reason they still make those things.

PixyJunket 10-20-03 01:47 PM

..of course I did a search ro confirm, and IGN says the keyboard will NOT work. Hmm.

i-bystander 10-20-03 02:20 PM

OK, I've been following this thread forever, but I haven't taken the plunge into Animal Crossing just yet. Based on the dialogue contained in this thread, I'm eagerly anticipating playing this *game* in the near future [do you play with the game, or does the game play with you?]. :) By that time, I should be armed with knowledge gained from these posts, and hopefully would find the game truly enjoyable.

Anyhow, the reason why I posted is because I just saw Animal Crossing Series 2 & 3 E-cards at BB for $0.99 (Series 4 are still at $3.99). It's probably old news to you guys already, but I just thought I'd share anyhow. Question regarding the cards, though: are these exclusive cards? As in, you can only get these characters/designs/tunes/what-have-you's from the cards? Can you get those codes playing the game, or online, or through other people? I'd just like to understand whether it's a good idea to go out buying these cards or not. Heck, I don't even have an E-Reader yet, but you don't really need one - do you? You can just type in the code/s instead of swiping them, correct? (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong).

Anyhow, that's all for now. Hopefully, I'd be joining you all soon - looking forward to trading and sending and all that good stuff.

:)

PixyJunket 10-20-03 02:38 PM

With the exception of the 2 NES Game cards, there's nothing on the cards you can't really get in the game.. each character card has 2 items on it, 1 for scanning it, and one for sending the password to somebody. The design cards are just extra designs for your clothes, and the town songs are just extra songs for your town theme, essentially the cards are all "extra" stuff. You don't need them.. I think some harder to find furniture is on some of the character cards, but really the only 2 cards worth anything are the 2 NES games.. hopefully if they make an Animal Crossing 2 the e-cards will serve some useful function.

Thanks for the quick reply, Pixy - for some reason, I knew you'd be the first one to reply to my post! :)

Anyhow, does that mean there's no point in paying for these cards? What are the 2 NES Game cards that you're taking about? Do I *have* to scan them in with the E-Reader or can I just use the password myself? Are these passwords only used once? Meaning, if I use it myself, I can't send it to anyone else? More questions, I know - but where better to ask than here? ;)
