Just bought espn 3 days ago. Absolutely love it but am I the only person having problems tackling. I mean how the heck does edgerrin james break 4 tackles in my goalline formation and run 96 yards for a td. Damn the AI in football games nowadays is too ridiculously high I tell you.

Thanks for the review link. I have Madden '03 for the PC, NCAA '03 for the PS2 and think based on this review, my game of choice this year will be ESPN. I've been holding off buying to see some head to head comparisons of the two.

I can't make up my mind. They each have good qualities. I wish I could take the best of both and combine them. I'll probably stick with Madden 2004 since I'm used to it.

alright, I bought ESPN today and I'm glad I did...I think it is great. My bestfriend has loved the 2k series for years, but I thought the animation was always below par, the players looked too big, the graphics were lousy and the controls too much, but this one? Oh man, it is great. Everything is streamlined and beautiful...I played Madden 2004 for the PS2 when I was drunk a few weeks ago and in that hazy state I remember it being good, but nowhere near as well done as ESPN. The scores, tackling, defensive, everything seems realistic. Excellent game! Those on the fence? I say go for ESPN.

you played Madden when you were wasted, and you already decided on ESPN? I say play ESPN when you're wasted and then choose. Or just start drinking responsibly lol.

I hear ya, the tackling is definitely tough. i've gotten somewhat better by controlling a LB on obvious running situations and powering him up and using the X button when I get near the ball carrier. Make sure you're close enough that you don't dive. I try to stay in front of or near him til I get some help.

Definitely for me the key to my getting better has been powering up the guy i'm controlling...

ESPN is great. IT the best of Madeen and 2k3 rolled into one. It's the best footbal game ever probably. Live works great. It's just really, really cool.
