Nice pics Creaturex!

I wonder how the camera works. I see some screenshots where the camera is head on ... from the front I mean. How is one supposed to control the cart! Shouldn't the camera stay BEHIND while driving?

Apparently Mr. Martinet is very talented as an actor, voice over artist, and corporate spokesperson, but I don't know how he'll ever top "It's-a me, Mario!"

He was Michael Douglas's dad in The Game and the Barney-clone who got beaten up in Nine Months.

Where do you guys get this information? I feel enlightened.

The line I can't get out of my head is, "Here we go.", when Mario would blast off.

What's with Pac Man at the end of that clip?

As for Mario Kart... zzZZzzZZ *snore*... I never got what people see in this series. All anyone can offer is - 'it's great!11!!1' But that doesn't really explain it. I know my roommate (the Gamecube owner) will most likely buy it. If it's as good a game as everyone makes it out to be, it'll win me over and I'll be back to say how wrong I was. I'll give it a fair chance too - I've got an open mind.

i never understood it either. then, when i was in college, mario kart provided endless hours of entertainment for me and my firends. it was weird, one day we all looked at each other and said... " i think we've been playing this stupid game for 6 straight hours".... ever since then, i've been hooked on mario kart. go figure.

Personally I like the racing games where you can attack your opponents during the race. Mario Kart is the best I've ever played as far as that goes. Rock & Roll racing would be another good entry there though. Both just my opinions obviously.

Also, the multiplayer battle modes of Mario Kart have always been incredibly fun to play. We have 7 consoles hooked up and Mario Kart 64 is probably the most played game by my kids. Monkey Ball would be a close second though.

It tends to be the only game that they continue playing, the other games (Zelda, Jak & Daxter, Harry Potter, etc.) get played for a few weeks and then get shoved back in the drawer.

Re: New Video

IGN picked some boring footage. For some more intense video footage check out N-Gamer's coverage:

The quality isn't as good though. I had a tough time making out what was happening on the screen.

I like that too - that's why I loved Road Rash so much - and back then I played Mario Kart and didn't like it... at all. It's also the reason I love Wipeout so much.

I can't find a network adapter anywhere.
I wanted to get one to have it on hand when this comes out. I guess Nintendo isn't making them anymore.
