You know? Sell you all your stuff, it's very cathartic. After a month or so, see what games you miss and then get back into it if you'd like. If games become too much work, it's time to put them away for a while.

1) Selling my stuff may be cathartic, but I did that before, and wound up buying it again. I don't know...ther'es always that one game.. I need to go absolutely cold turkey.
2) Try less games. Yeah no ****. I'm playing 2 or 3 different ones, with WMXIX being a buying possibility this week, but doubtful.
3) I just have stopped caring. Maybe eBay is the way to better health and living.

wow, you are really picky aren't you? Didn't you just get SC2 and F-Zero like 2-3 days ago? Talk about giving up too soon. I get owned constantly on games I first try out. I think alot of people do. You just adapt. That's what easier settings and sliders are for. Practice makes pefect, patience is a virtue, blah blah.
You really blew it with Madden 2004, not giving the best sports title this year (in my opinion) a chance, but from what I hear SC2 and F-Zero are kickass games, and you dumped them as well
Besides, where is the fun if you don't get your ass handed to you? Would you have more fun if you dominated your games the minute you turned the power on or more fun developing a strategy to "beat that boss" or "win that race"?

You just have to find the right game that engages you. Currently I'm playing Midnight Club 2, the high prince of all cheating catch up logic, but I'm having a blast. The game is insanely hard once you get into it, but sticking with it makes me feel like a god when I finally win a race.
Sports games definately aren't for everyone, especially football games. I had major issues with Madden 2002 myself. Everyone was saying how great it was so I stuck with it for a good while but still wasn't having fun. Was it a great game? Yeah it was. Was it for me? No. Give me Joe Montana's Sports Talk or Tecmo Bowl any day of the weak.
Just try some new games homeslice.

Most likely my comments will get passed by but I'll still say this:
If you get stuck on a game......move on to something else.
I have a number of games that just tick me off like crazy. I just move on. I don't finish all my games over maybe even half of them but I do enjoy them and play then off and on.
If you get really ticked off with a game you might not to ever want to play this game ever again. Don't ket it get to you. Just move on to something else.

I think that making games way too tough is the programmer's way of getting around the fact that most games are way too short. It's the ultimate cheat.
I think RPGs are good because usually you can get through any one of them, even if you have to keep killing rats or something until you can level up enough.

First it was John Madden. He pissed me off to no end. His game with all his fancy Xs and Os and "learn how to read a D" and "learn what leg your RB needs to push off of" and "hey, I'm john madden BOOM!". I couldn't win worth **** in his game. I couldn't even beat an NFL Europe Team.
Then it was Panzer Dragoon Orta. Picked this game up from a friend for $15, who wanted to sell it since he beat it. First few levels, I breezed thru, after that, I got my ass royally handed to me. No matter how many times I tried to go thru the level, I couldn't win. I just suck.
Then it was F Zero GX. A game everyboyd said was too hard, impossible, etc. I decided I loved X and the original SNES game, so I picked it up. Breezed thru the first Grand Prix, and first chapter of Story Mode. Then proceeded to have my ass entirely handed to me.
Now it's Soul Calibur 2. Went thru Weapon Master mode once, and that's about all I can do. Can't unlock Assassin, ****, cant' even get past the 2nd person in his stage. Can't unlock Lizardman, because I cant' even beat the first ****ing stage in round 2.
Video gaming has passed me by. I'm debating on giving it up entirely. I'm apparently too old, or just too ****ing stupid to play games anymore.
Tis a shame really, as I've been playing since the Vectrex...

Sorry but I will have to pass....all the games you listed are too hard for me.

Do you happen to have an Elmo in Grouchland game?

Action Replay is cheating? I guess it is however since Time will not give me back my youthful reflexes who cares. I like to play games.
So if a game is too hard I will "cheat" to win it. I can care less if some that have not played and lost against Time think I am cheating. It is my games I can do what I want with them.
I tend to pick games that do not require those youthful reflexes since I have always loved RPG's that tend to forgive my slowing brain and aching joints.
Buy an action Replay and then start enjoying your games again. Remember they are just games. They are intended to be fun and give you a moment’s diversion

Heh I feel the same way about games too sometimes. I used to be halfway decent at Soul Calibur for the DC but not having picked it up in a couple of years, and with the different control layout of the Xbox, I am regularly getting hammered in Weapons Master mode (yet somehow I get that one win that gets me through that challenge). I've been told that I really like to learn fighting games so starting out I get nailed, but as I get the hang of the system I do ok. But I still get frustrated when I lose [

Lately I've been devoting my time to Everquest which thankfully is not a "twitch" game, and like gcribbs said, those RPG's are kind to those of us with slow fingers, not to mention having some great stories.
Maybe just a break is needed, or try going back to older games, like your Vectrex until you feel comfortable in taking on something else.
