Is it the strategy guide? Yes. (but it's marked as the game and not a strategy guide, so if they send a strategy guide we send it back).

Was this a mistake? Yes.

Should we even try? Absolutely. We all got South Park Season 1 from the same place for $10 a few months ago. 1 minute of my time is worth it to try to get this deal.

Maybe if it was a tad cheaper, say, $10, i would go for it. Otherwise i'm only saving nickels and dimes over getting it at Best Buy w/coupon and Target with raincheck scam.

BTW, how do you edit thread titles? i want to mark this deal DEAD.

Ughghg, no offense to people from gamefaqs that are actually useful, but those boards are full of children. Not that there is anything wrong w/ kids posting online, when they know what they are doing, but half of the stuff in the gamefaqs boards is pretty sad to read.

I don't know about that... I have a email confirmation that says I'm getting Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for $14.99. Doesn't say Game Guide on it. I WIN!

Just so you know, the MSRP for this game is $35.

UPDATE: the game has been taken off their webpage completely. Nothing under game guides or under role-playing. My order status, however, still reads "Final Fantasy Tactics Advance" for 18.97 including shipping.

Got an email that said this:

This is an automated notification regarding your recent order at SamGoody.com, Suncoast.com or MediaPlay.com.

One or more items in your order are currently not available to ship. While we find the majority of items are available within the time frame shown during checkout, we wanted to notify you of this delay. This delay is usually caused because of a delay in the initial release of the item(s) you ordered.
This indicates to me that they don't have the item in stock because it's not out yet...in other words, it was the game itself, but they keyed in the price and release date of the guide by mistake.

As we all know, this company has made a lot of pricing mistakes in the past, and they have honored some of them. It'll be interesting to see what happens here.

I'm getting the same emails, Groucho, and I agree. I bet they'll go through. They would have cancelled it if they weren't or told us it was a mistake, not give us an email notice stating that the release date isn't here yet.

The release date notification was automatic. There's still plenty of time for them to cancel the orders. I imagine there's somebody sitting in a meeting discussing the situation right now. It probably depends on how many people actually ordered this. A lot of people cancelled their order, so who knows? It could go either way.

Understood. I would rather them cancel it then shipping the guide though.

I agree. Although if they ship the guide and you get lucky and have a dumb CS when you call...

"Hey, I ordered the game and you guys sent the guide by mistake."

"I apologize sir. I'll ship the game out immediately. Keep the guide with our complements!"

did everyone else get the 2-3 week estimate for the title to ship out? I guess I can wait a few weeks, but I really want to play this now!

I think the "2-3 weeks" bit is probably a canned estimate for backordered items.

What part of the e-mail made it sound like it was a cancellation?

I figured as much. It's smart that they do that. They can now have all the time in the world to cancel our order after the title ships out to regular stores b/c of that estimate. Bastards!

I was in a rush this morning and can't check at work but anytime I get an email like that I think it is just some way of saying that what you ordered will not be available. I guess I implied the cancellation by myself.
