Wireless access to PS2?

Has anyone used the wireless access to the PS2? I have a 802.11b wireless network and want to get online wiht my PS2.

My phone line is across the room, so i cant hook in that way... Has anyone used one of those adapters? I think theres a Linksys one?

And is it really worth it to go online?

I'm pretty sure you would need a wirless bridge for your PS2, and they're kind of pricey.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to hook up the wireless router directly to the PS2 and then use a wireless card for your laptop/PC to connect to the internet? The wireless bridge is way more expensive than a wireless card for a PC. Plus if you use a cable modem you probably have a cable jack close to you TV/PS2 to connect cable modem and router into.

Just a thought because I'm thinking of doing this.

the problem is, my phone line is nowhere near my TV setup, so it would involve running a line across the room, which is not an option...

I think so. While the Sony Online community isn't as orderly as the Live one, it is free. SOCOM is a huge online game with literally thousands of people playing at any given time. Many of the premiere upcoming Sony titles will have online capability. I think you'll see more and more games where online will be the main mode of play. There's no denying : Online play is the future of gaming. You'd have to be an idiot (or a Nintendo executive) to think otherwise.
