Please Help Identify This Game

OK back in the early 90's I used to go to my friends house and play this game on his computer (although it could of been some kind of console like a Commodore 64?)

Anyway, the game was a SPACE game. You had 20 or so ships to split up into teams. Then you would pair up each ship against the other. and the surviving ship would continue to the next round vs. the opponents next ship.

Each ship had special abilities and weaknesses, as well as unique pic of the pilot/alien race. It was lots of fun!

-- Anyone know which game this might be?

-- Is there any game like it for GBA?

Thanks for your expert game help!!

Nope haven't seen anything remotely like this on GBA.

But if you have 3DO player you can get one of the best versions of Star Control 2!!!!!

Very fond memories!

1st came: Archon series
then came: Star Control series
Lets Hope The Collective (Buffy/Indy) can do the same gameplay with Wrath Unleashed! (fingers crossed!)

The ship was called the Ur-Quan Dreadnought. Is that what you meant? Or something else?

At the time, most games still used FM synthesis for music. And CD drives were not common yet, so redbook audio was out of the question. StarCon2 was one of the first and only games to use MOD files for music. I liked the music in the game so much that I ripped the MODs from the game and still listen to them occasionally with Mod4Win (which is now freeware).
