What is EBGames current policy on trade-in credit?

What will they give me for my old xbox games? or am I better off selling on ebay/half.com?

Depends on the game, but you are usually better off selling them on ebay/half, if you are willing to go to the trouble.

The EB and Gamestop store trade-in policy is:

1)rip off kids by offering ridiculously low prices for trade-in credit.
2) Resell the game as a "new game" for full price or for $5 lower than MSRP and complete the rip off cycle.

Unless there's a good trade-in deal like the 3-game F-Zero GX one, stick with eBay, I just sold a bunch of games on there. Took them to Gamestop and they were only gonna give me $8 for most of them, on eBay they all went for over $22 each.

Thanks to half.com, I almost always make back more than I paid for a game... and that's after seller's fees.

what I have been doing is buy clearance games from target for like $5 a piece and then trade them in at Gamestop. I paid about $40 for $80 of gamestop credit :-)

Is it a pain-in-the-a@@ process ?? I have quite a few games that I'd like to sell or trade in and would obviously like to maximize my my return. 've never sold anything on ebay or anything like that...

Half.com is very low-maintenance. You list your item and your price, and that's it. The tradeoff for this convenience is that you may have to wait a long time for your item to be purchased. High-profile items will generally go quickly, especially if you name a reasonable price, but more obscure or mediocre items may languish forever in your inventory.

I was wondering the same thing myself because i think i might be getting rid of my Gamecube, accessories, and all my games soon and was wondering the easiest way to do this. I considered just trading it all in at EB and throwing the money down on all my Xbox pre-orders but if i could get significantly more elsewhere.....

Selling on ebay and such just seems like such a pain to contend with fees, stupid buyers, and cheats.

You guys might want to check out GameTZ. The link is in my sig. I sell and trade my games there, and I get a lot more in return then GameStop/EB would give. Check it out

I use to use GTZ until they started charging money. Do they still do that? It was a very good place, though.

Yeah, you have to be a subscriber, but there is a trial subscribtion for new users. You can also trade for subscribtion time if you prefer. It is really worth it. I buy/sell/trade on a few sites, but nothing is close to GameTZ. For 8 weeks, it's only $4.99. I have made so many great deals. Effigy, if you want to try it out again, I will send you a week of subscribtion time for free. Just let me know what your username is on GameTZ.

Hey, thanks man - but right now I'm about to move and all kinds of other hectic things, so not right now, but certainly in the near future. I traded a few games on there before and it does work greatly, so no doubt I'll give it another chance. Looks like they got a slightly new and improved layout for searching through items, that's a plus.

I was looking to trade in some games at EBgames for ESPN NFL Football.

However, I'll feel that i'll get screwed on trading in games like NHL 2K3 for XBOX (if they accept older sports titles) and Splashdown for PS2.

I use amazon.com to resell all my stuff. Sure their fees are higher than some, but it's very convenient and I usually end up having paid $15-20 for a game after selling it which is an acceptable loss for me. Better than the $5 trade-in deals at B&M stores.

There was in their last magazine a 10% coupon to trade in titles.
I don't see why people complain so much. With all their coupons and offers I got a title for 45$ that I traded back in 2 weeks later for 40$.

EB is also giving $5 extra per title traded (PS2, XB, GC) towards future EA titles. It's great if you have games which normally have junk trade in values. I traded in some games I bought for $4 to $5 at EB and other places (i.e. Nightfire) and made a huge profit, and got a pretty good deal on some other stuff.

I agree with Feneant, if you take the time to look for the deals, you can do very well with EB etc.

Does anyone know if they still take DVDs on trade and what the deal is? I have about 22 Troma DVDs I'm thinking of unloading.

Thank you for this. That is why people who would like to find a good deal at Target never can,...because of people like you who buy them all up.

I can tell you right now #2 is BS. EB does not trade in games and change the sku to a new title. How exactly is this considered a rip off anyways? EB offers life-time warranty's for all of their pre-owned games. $5 off ($10 with a GMR discount card) , and a life-time warranty is a RIP OFF?)

As for #1...the trade in value is the same for kids and adults, so the first part of your statement can be overlooked. And when you look at it from a business standpoint, most of the titles aren't guaranteed to sell. Now before you choke the salesperson after he tells you Madden 03 is worth $2 trade in credit, keep in mind everybody and their mother has traded in the game too, and with 2004, no one will buy 2003. So what happens is EB is stuck with a warehouse full of old games.

I do agree that you'll get more on eBay (one man's trash is another man's treasure) but if you don't want the hassle, just go to EB. they do have some nice trade in specials, like $5 extra on every GC, XBOX, or PS2 game traded in towards the pre-order of any upcoming EA Sports game.

Vampire Night w/ Gun Con kinda "RARE" i gather keep it instead let EB ripping meeh OFF
