For the first stage, I have been fastest using Death Anchor (the developer ghost is also a Death Anchor).

The only time I think the computer cheated was on the chapter 7 with Black Shadow. I'm still trying to get expert on the last cup to move up to master.
I always boost at the end that's why I was freaked out how fast he flew past me. I built another custom car and the Ruby cup is a little more feasible now. Still annoying as hell though, particularly the first track. It's wierd though, I hate this game now but can't stop trying to finish the cups...

Finally finished Ruby,Sapphire and Emerald cups on Master difficulty. Sapphire sucked big time, I kept on losing on the last track, Mute City: Serial Gaps. No matter if I went slow or fast I kept falling off at the same point heh. I don't think I could have finished these cups without using a custom racer though. If your having difficulty finishing try this custom racer, found it on gamefaqs msgboard

Acro Lynx G4

Body: Sky Horse
Cockpits: Super Lynx
Booster: Titan G4

I was annoyed until I started using this one.

ok, maybe this is a stupid question, but i need some help with the garage functionality of this game. i was using the default cars to do the grand prix on novice level. i earned some tickets. i went to the garage and tried to buy a booster. it charged me the tickets, then said it was sold out so i figured i bought the last one. then when i opened a garage, all it would let me alter was the decal, it didn't give me the option to add my new booster. How the heck do i access my new booster? Or any spare parts for that matter?

I assume you have to re-edit your machine. I haven't played with it much but there should be an option to change the parts, if not just delete it and rebuild it.

If I had looked over this thread and saw how hard this game was I never would of bought it.....and I would of missed out of a ton of fun.

My hands hurt so much from playing that it's tough to even post this message.

The tracks are nuts and the speed is great. I hate real racing games like GT3 but this wild kind of racing is what I enjoy.

I have to read up a bit and see how to earn tickets faster. There has to be a better way but until I find it I don't mind just playing all the different modes.

I built a custom machine I am really happy with. Top speed is 1130kph or so. Handles good enough that I don't really need L or R. I couldn't beat the last two cups on expert. As soon as I used it, I beat them, along with the first 3 cups on master. Diamond master should be pretty easy too. I always slide the setting to top speed.

Engine: Any of the A rated ones. Titan G4 is also ok.
Body: Optical Wing. Must beat story mode ch2 on hard to get it.
Cockpit: Heat Snake. Must beat story mode ch3 on hard to get it.

Beating ch2 is not too bad. The last part is the only hard part. IIRC, I started on right, zigged hard left, then back hard right to get past the blind part and dodged a few small boulders to finish. Don't try and pass him till the last part or he'll just boost and you wasted your energy.

Beating ch3 is easy if you do the snaking thing. Put the slider all the way left (acceleration), then continually use Left+L and Right+R to zig zag back and forth. You will get a huge speed boost. I beat it easily on very hard this way too and unlocked a AX car.

Snaking will let you get (and beat) staff ghosts too. It works best with heavy cars like black bull. Just go to time attack and get within 10 seconds of their time.

MasterofDVD, getting credits is pretty easy. Just finish well in any of the cups. Higher difficulties and higher cups get you more credits. They start around 10 for easiest and end around 50 for master.

Damn you chapter 3! Damn you!! I don't think I'll ever be able to beat it. The best I've got is third.

I wasn't really having fun with the story mode.. I played some regular mode and unlocked some new cars but haven't played for a bit.. so I guess there are even more cars in story mode?

Beating chapters on very hard unlocks the AX cars (arcade cars). Good luck with that. I've only been able to do it on chapter 3. I've come close on the escape from the power plant one, but get too frustrated with it since just tapping the wall just once slows you down enough to make you lose.. The rest seem impossible.

You get AX parts for beating chapters on hard mode (which is still pretty much impossible).
