Thanks, Galanthas. Any idea what were the 7 tracks that were dropped from this CD (the Japanese 2-disc soundtrack has 35 tracks)?

I have no idea heh. I don't keep up with soundtracks. I've only bought two in the past 20 years of gaming(Suikoden 1, Castlevania:Symphony of the Night) both of those are great btw

Oh and thanks for the two recommendations.

CRAP. I bought the Bradygames strat guide for this game at Best Buy last week for $15.
I don't usually buy strat guides. I was buying the game at Best Buy, and the BB employee asked me if I wanted the guide with the game. I figured, "it's not a crappy Prima Guide, plus I've never played Soul Calibur/Soul Edge before, so why not." Now I find that I could have bought it and the soundtrack at EB for $25. I totally would have done that instead. I even have coupons and MSN dollars I have yet to spend at EB online. This sux.

the point of suggesting the strategy guide deb was because he asked were he can get the soundtrack. you can get it in the strategy guide.

They tried to sell me that strategy guide at TRU when I bought the game. I didn't even really look at it. If I had known that it had the soundtrack in it, I might have bought it. Hmmm, perhaps another trip tp TRU is in order.

Yeah. so your words are to little, to late. There is a market for strat. guides. As silly as it sounds, people like to have the hard copy of it instead of looking at a 300 page FAQ. So those who are smart enough to not buy strat. guides are the same folks who already know this. Just as those who wont aren't using cheat codes for this game opposed to those asking for some.

BTW I have a Palm and download strategy guides into it for the 3-4 games I am playing on the GBA. Once I beat them, I erase the strategy guides (keeping a copy on my hard drive) and load new ones

Like I said, I don't usually buy strat guides, but for this game I think it might be necessary.
There are very few FAQs available on gamefaqs or any other website regarding this game. The movelists on gamefaqs suck big time. The movelists don't have hit levels or damage numbers - I can understand not having damage numbers, but no hit levels? Pathetic. The movelists at guardimpact.com are incomplete.
The character-specific FAQs at gamefaqs are only available for some characters. Many of the ones that are available are very sloppily written and have little useful strategy info.
The only real way right now to get good strategy on this game is to spend hours on soul calibur-specific msg boards and sift through hundreds on messages, looking for tidbits of strategy - how to use moves, guaranteed combos, etc. I don't have the time to sift through the chaff.
It's really sad that a great game like SC2 doesn't have more guides and FAQs written for it. One of the reasons I was able to get into and excited about Tekken3 was all the FAQs that were written for it. And that convinced me to write my own as well.
The SC2 community needs to get off their lazy asses and start writing some quality FAQs. Otherwise the community won't grow - they need to write FAQs so the daunting task of getting into this game will be easier on newcomers.

I bought the strat guide as well... mostly to spend 25 bucks at Bestbuy to get my bonus reward points. For as deep a fighter as this is, it was well worth it, at least to me. It is a nice publication, and it really does help to have a hardcopy of all the moves right in front of you. And I usually abhor strategy guides (I swore off them after that Final Fantasy IX debacle).

Well, I guess I can chime in on the game as well. I got the Xbox version which arrived Tuesday. So far, I'm impressed. It's a good fighting game. I never played SC, but it took me back to Soul Blade on the PS1; I loved that game.
The graphics are very nice, if not as flashy as those on DOA 3. I love the 5.1 sound, I startled the first time I heard thunder behind me. Spawn is a very cool character, a nice addition. Haven't gotten too far into it, but I can see why people are frustrated, it is tough. I hope I'll get better with a lot of practice.

If you are that impatient for a faq then maybe you should write one. Aren't you part of the SC2 community that needs to get off their lazy asses?

(Oh, I am actually thinking of picking up the guide tomorrow. As previously stated, it would be nice to have the move list right there, and I want the CD as well.)

Too bad Amazon doesn't have the Limited Edition, they have a pretty good price on the Guide.

Decker wouldn't it be awesome if we held Soul Calibur II tournaments? I mean we live in the same city! My two X-Arcade Solos will be here today
When we get tired of that we could do Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution. How does that sound?

Sounds great! Let's get together sometime.
I'll also be on Live soon and we'll hook up. I bought MechAssault, which I know you have as well, right?

Yes I have MechAssault
Also Have RTCW (Wolfenstein) and Tetris Worlds (which is $15 after BBuy coupon).
Maybe you can help me set up Live since my router blocks it
So I haven't used it in months. And the PS2 online is glitchy at best. Sigh.

Yes, I expect FAQs for everything (or close to everything) after more than a year of release of a game. Again, take my example of Tekken3. Almost all FAQs (and certainly the ones of any redeeming quality) for Tekken3 were written even before the console version was released. When the console version was released, more gamers were able to join the community and get quickly up to speed. This was in the best interests of everyone involved because it raised the general level of play all-around.
You are not the type to write a FAQ, because those who do are serious about a game and interested in taking an active part in growing the community. Those who are serious about a game and writing FAQs do not "enjoy the game for a while before starting to take notes." Taking notes and improving their gameplay, studying movelists, etc. are "enjoyable activities" for FAQ writers and serious fighting game enthusiasts. In fact I'm willing to bet that most serious SC2 gamers (that have played at the arcade a lot by now) already have many notes written down and in their mind. They just need to take time to sort it all out and codify it in a written FAQ. But the community hasn't done that. Hence, my [justified] accusation that they are lazy.

I'll accept if I ever get on. D-Link has some of the most UNknowledgeable tech people on earth, so I was going to try Microsoft and beg them to help me out.
