IGN scores mysteriously correspond with their heavy advertisers, particularly for hardware.

I don't go by scores, just by the actual review, movies, pictures, etc. Amazon.com is great for user reviews.

I totally disagree. I can't stand overly hard games, especially if they are hard for cheesy reasons. I like that EGM will mention if they think a game is too hard or too easy. Having all 3 systems, and a very limited money and time budget for gaming, I like to make sure I buy games that 1) I will enjoy and not just get pissed off at and 2) will last long enough to be worth the money.

EGMs reviews help me do this and keep me from wasting time and money.

I haven't played F-zero, so I can't comment on it. Though I did dislike F-zero X because I thought it was too difficult. I'm in no rush to check out the new one because of that. Plus I'm not a huge racing fan and will probably just wait for Mario Kart.

yeah but they shouldn't dock the games score just because it was too difficult for them (is this the magazine that said Bionic commando was impossible to beat). They didn't dock Luigi's Mansion for being too easy. They should just mention it in the reviews.

They should base it more on the quality of the game.

Being too hard or too easy effects the quality of a game IMO and should factor into the score.

But some people like easy games, and some people like harder games.

Lowering scores because you suck is just not right.

Like I said, if the game utilizes "cheap" tatics to make it hard, yeah hack the game up. F-zero doesn't do that. Rather it's a serious game made to be challenging. EGM dropped the ball on this review.

And I bet the average gamer likes game that are "just right" meaning not to easy, or too frustratingly difficult.

Reviews should be tailored to the average gamer, not sucky gamers that want easy games, or hard core gamers that play games all the time and want really challenging games.

I get to game MAYBE 4 hours a month now. I don't consider myself hardcore, just want a game that is not a push over.

will it be possible to have ur golfer look like a 5'3", 350lb bald-headed, pot bellied guy with a nasty 5-o-clock shadow and only half his teeth? Now that'd be cool , especially when u got good at the game and you were smackin around all the pros while looking like a slob.

These guys thought MegaManNetworkTransmission was hard and felt VF4evo was weaker because it only offered 2 new characters.

EGM blows now. Thank God I don't pay for it.

If they got rid of the number rating system, people would be forced to see how stupid the writing is.

It's all up the reviewer. Remember, Ikaruga got 8's and it's an incredibly difficult game.
