Xbox Lan Parties... Recommendations?

My girlfriend and I have recently become addicted to Xbox lan parties (so much that we got a second 32 inch TV and xbox for the living room). Lan games are the only reason I play my xbox. I have to play Lan, Not at all interrested in Xbox Live. So far we have only played Halo (her fav) and Timesplitters (my fav).

Anyone else play lan games on their Xbox? Recommend any games/modes/setups?

Also can't wait for Nintendo to start supporting LAN.

Deathrow - Futuristic Sport game

Is a good one for lans. 1-4 players per box and linkable up to 8 xboxes. (8players total)

Return to Castle Wolfenstein is good for team play fps. But i recommend at least you and 7 other friends with their own xboxes and tv's over for it to be worthwhile. (ie. 1 player per box)

Unreal Championship allows 1-4 players per box and is linkable but it does get Choppy!

Have fun!

I picked it from EB on the cheap, and I didn't like it. No sir, not one bit. I found it boring and repetitive

I second the voice on unreal tourney. A house favorite

Serious Sam for Xbox! With a LAN connection, you can play 8 player co-op! (2 people per xbox, 4 xboxes linked)

I only got to play 2 player co-op on one Xbox & it was very fun. Can't imagine how seriously fun 8 player co-op would be!

a Lan noob question here...

Does this involve bringing an xbox to someone's home or can this be done from your own home?

It can be done from your own home... if you're willing to run an ethernet cable from your home to your friend's home.

If your neighbor had a wireless network running and you purchased an access point, etc you could probably do it that way without the cables. Apparently unless the proper security is enabled, it is pretty easy to hijack a ride on someone's wi-fi network. Hope that makes everybody feel good

Halo has been our favorite. Usually have a get together at a friends house who has a 65" HD TV and then a 32" off to the side, hook up 2 X-boxes and go at it. We are looking at having one with more TV's and X-Boxes once he gets the new bigger house built (Yeah, he has too much money and nobody to spend it for him)

Brute Force in coop mode was less than impressive. I kind of like it single player and thought coop would be cool, but for some reason even on a 65" HD TV it looked less than optimal and we were not keeping up with one another well. Not sure about their deathmatch modes, but reviews for DM modes on Brute Force have stated that it's nothing remarkable.

Mech Assault is okay, but again we keep going back to Halo.

We have two systems setup upstairs and down at my apartment. We play Halo, and when we get tired of it, we just play some more Halo That is all that has ever really been played on my boxes, just because no one ever gets tired of it. A fair amount of people in the dorms play over the LAN because it's so easy to get hooked up, everything is already wired.

I have had 2 Lan parties in the past month or so. 3 Xboxes and 3 tvs (1 57" and 2 27")for 8 people so far with a potential for 10+. So that is hours upon hours of Halo.

Any other 8+ player games?
