There was a PS1 game that had Cloud as a fighting character. I can't remember the name, and I'm not sure it ever made it stateside, either. Anyways, it was a Square game.
It was Ehrgeiz or whatever. It was a Square/Namco game. I think...

Yeah, I remember it began with an "E". Why would they make it such a hard name to remember? I saw it once in an arcade. Did the game make it stateside?
I remember another fighter, a sequel to something, that was supposed to be really good and it never came to the US, for whatever reason.

Actually the game was developed by Dream Factory. The same people who also developed The Bouncer and Tobal no.1. Namco had nothing to do with it. Square just published it. It did come to the US. And I think the FF characters in it were Cloud, Vincent, Yuffie, Sephiroth and Tifa. Game was ok, but nothing special.

I don't know if you ever played it, but in Soul Blade, one could play weaponless once they were disarmed. Nothing too special, just you're regular punches and kicks. And the disarmed character would usually fall pretty fast to the armed opponent. Great game, though.
That's right, I forgot about that. I don't really consider Soul Blade in the same league as Calibur (for obvious reasons, I suppose). I'm hoping it's a little cooler with Heiachi.

I do agree Heihachi is a silly choice for an added bonus I would have preferred Klonoa. It would work he is a Namco character. Reviews or "the graphics are weakest of the three" arent gonig to stop me from buying this game. Call me a fan boy or whatever I dont care I just enjoy Calibur, and Im not blind to flaws the ps2 version has Im just willing to over look them.

Saying soul blade isn't considered in the same league is like saying Street fighter II shouldn't be counted with all the Alpha's and the sequels. Man I spent hours playing that game at a local loundry mat.
