Good Deal on Controller-S
Hi. I went to Blockbuster Video today to take advantage of the 25% off sale. Apparently I missed it, but along with finding good deals on pre-played Xbox games All Star Baseball 2004 ($14.99) and NBA Live 2003 ($9.99), I happened to notice that they had a few new Controller-S packages. Though the controller lists for $29.99, theirs were clearly marked $14.99. I think this must be another one of their strange clearance mark-downs. I'd bet it would ring up at that price even if it wasn't marked as such (like Mechassault and Metroid Prime did).
Check it out if you need a controller. I'm really glad now I didn't buy a Mad Catz one yet!

Good luck. I've only been to the one store, but it scans in as "Sale $14.99" so it should be that price everywhere, I'd guess. They usually keep their new controllers on the end of an isle by the new video games.
BTW: Just tried out my NBA Live 2003. It's quite fun and definately worth $9.99 if you can find that.

It could be that Blockbuster isn't selling these too well and just wants to get rid of them all together. Kind of like that amazing CompUSA DVD sale a few years ago.
I can't wait to go to the one by me and check it out.

I checked out two of my local BBV's during lunch. One had only MadCatz controllers at $24.99 and the other one has the S controllers marked at $29.99. Unfortunately they scanned at $29.99 as well so YMMV.
I'll have to check out a couple more stores later.

Gee, I hope it wasn't just my one store. I'll try to check some other ones around me.
Sorry if this one doesn't pan out for everyone.

Hey, it's better to post a possible good deal than to keep it to yourself, even if it doesn't pan out for everybody.
That said, you're going on my ignore list if my Blockbuster doesn't have this.

Turns out it's a corporate store. I hope that helps.
I really want this deal to pan out for Groucho. I don't want to end up on anyone's ignore list! I didn't even know what that was. I may have to look into that if it blocks posts from, let's say, one grammatically challenged Video Game Forum regular.

Well, if I've wasted anyone's time with this one, I'm really sorry. I thought it must be a chain-wide sale. I'll check myself on another store this evening.
But just to show I wasn't meaning to jerk on anyone's chain....

Well, I couldn't find my other local BBV tonight (new to town) but I went back to the original store to ask if this sale was just their store or chain-wide. The employee replied, verbatem, "Oh, dude, I have NO idea".
Anyway I looked around and came to the conclusion that maybe this store is getting out of the gaming biz. Sorry if I mislead anyone. Honest mistake.
If anyone lives in Vegas however, it's at Charlston and Town Center.
Anyways, I couldn't just leave the place empty handed...

Charleston and Town Center? I'm there at 10am
Were there any left?
BTW Decker do you know where I can get cheap GBA games locally?
PS if you need help getting around you can IM me at GatorDeb2000 (AOL) and a great place for directions is mapsonus.com. I've been here 2 years and 4 months and love it.

Deb, there are PLENTY of both controller-S and Dual Shock 2's (well, at least five of each). I have no idea why these haven't sold out yet, but they haven't. I was there at 8 last night, so you should be fine this morning.
Thanks for the welcome
I'm getting around OK, but somehow I headed the wrong way yesterday when I was trying to find that other BBV in Summerlin and ended up on the Parkway instead. I'll check out that map site; I'm a little sick of mapquest.
and I'll keep an eye out for cheap GBA games for you.

THANK YOU DECKER !!!
I grabbed the LAST three XBOX controllers and the LAST PS2 Sony Controller. $15 for the XBOX, $10 for the Sony (which is unbelievable for brand controllers), and 2 of the MadKatz GameCube controllers for $10 each. Now I have 4 each of XBOX and GC controllers and 2 of the PS2. I have many party games but when people came over only 1 or 2 could play at a time, which sucked. Sucks no more
I also grabbed a 256 MadKatz memory card for the GC for $19.99-$5 Best Buy Coupon (since they had huge banners outside proclaiming competitor's coupons accepted). They had Nintendo mem cards 59 blocks at $5 each (which is the same as the MadKatz without the coupon).
P.S. the BBuster is in the same mini-mall that has the DelTaco that I sometimes go to on my lunchtime. It's the only place open 24 hours within 10 minutes of my work (lunch is between 2-4am, it varies).

Your welcome!
It sucks that this isn't a national deal, but as they say, if you can help just one person clear out an evil corporate store of their absurdly discounted merchandise....
Well, so much for MY next four-way Xbox party. I may have to crash yours instead.

I used to live ~3 mins from that BBuster (in Peccole Ranch) so I used to go there. The people at the Rancho/Craig BBuster are MUCH nicer. And they know and follow the rules

No, I was looking for the one that looks like an adobe (Lake Mead, maybe?)
