Anyone play Disaster Report yet?
This is a game that sounds good in theory. Survival "horror" but set againts the backdrop of a natural disaster rather than a super natural event.
Anyone try it yet? If so what did you think?

It always has been an earthquake survival game. It never was suppose to be a supernatural monster game. You have the wrong assumptions and expectations.

He never said it was a supernatural monster game.
No, I haven't played it but it didn't get very good reviews from what I remember. I think a 5 or 6 in GI. Chalk it up to another great game on paper...

I rented this game during the summer. Basically there's an earthquake in the city and you have to make your way out to safety. On the way you'll find other survivers who'll join up with you and help you out. As you progress you'll start to uncover the cause of the earthquake. Its a pretty interesting game to say the least. Its not really a survival horror title, its rather a "survival" game in general. There aren't any enemies in it, instead there are obstacles and hazards to avoid like falling buildings, fires, or sliding cars on a upheaved street. The graphics aren't bad but won't win any awards and there's some slowdown (that may be intentional?) when tons of buildings come crashing down, and you can get different types of equipment and gear like a bike that help you move faster. After reading the reviews I went in with low expectations but its fairly decent. I'd say its definitely worth a rent for its interesting concept, but I probably wouldn't buy it. Its not a bad game, just don't expect too much from it.

As for the "horror" part. An earthquake can be a horrific experience.

Looks like Tanman is right on this one. I didn't say it was a supernatural game.

Actually - I really wanted to pick this one up. I have a habit of just buying the quirky PS2 titles that nobody else wants... like Mr. Mosquito (another survival horror) and Ico (extreme sports survival horror) and Rez (survival musical horror). DR is averaging a 7.1 on Gamewankings... so I'd say that's enough assurance for me to want to buy it.

I read a review in EGM a while back; the only thing I remember is that they gave it a fairly low score. What stuck in my mind was the need to have your character find and drink water constantly. Which could be tedious, or fun... if you're into virtually drinking a lot of water...
Also, Trigger... Mr Mosquito was teh sukekeke you llama it waz a kick-azz dance danse revolution insect flight sim horror numb nutz!!!!

Just to be fair, there is a "survival horror" like gimmick, in that, just like sILENT HILL and RESIDENT EVIL games, the game is suppose to have 5 different endings to it.

Actually - I think there's alot more than 5 endings... ign's walkthrough says 5, but I got one ending and its number was higher than 5. Some walkthroughs have said 7 endings, some reviews have said 8 endings. I think there's over a dozen endings, but I won't know until I get through them I guess. Plus - this was a month ago that I played it, so I might not be remembering right on what number my ending was. This game has lots of replayability and it takes longer than 6 hours the first time through (as reviews suggest). By the way - I really love this game. SO MUCH ILL MARRIE IT!!11!!!111!! BAHAHAHHHEHWHHAHA!!!11
