Am I crazy? Xbox Football games related

I can't decided which football game I want for the xbox. I have on order NFL Fever 2004. I'm thinking about getting Madden for the xbox too. Then of course ESPN comes out next month and I'll most likely have to get that too. How many of you buy all the football games or at least more than one.

It just seems like each of the games have some really cool features. The only thing I hate about owning more than one is having to get use to the controls for all of them. Maybe it's me but I always get the controls confused between the games.

Maybe it's just me, I have the exact opposite approach as you. I could never play multple footbal games or really any sports game. For football, it's Madden or nothing. There is SOOOO much to do with just one game nowadays, I don't understand how anyone could get multiple football games (or any sports game) & play them all. Go with Madden.

You're as crazy as me. I'll be reviewing all the sports titles for the site I write for. I already have my Madden 2004 and NCAA 2004 reviews up. There are many more to go just for football!

FYI, the link to the Doom II review in the left pane is broken. It is missing /reviews.

Wow 2 recommendations for Madden. I thought Sega was the preferred company for football on this board. I'm not a huge sports fan, but I enjoyed playing a few games on NFL2k3 on Live.

Madden is so much better than ESPN/2K, it's not even funny.

I already have Madden and NCAA, and I will be purchasing ESPN and Fever. I don't think I am crazy, I just love football.

Madden and NCAA 2003 are the best two football games this year just like most years. ESPN is pretty good and Fever looks better this year, but neither are as good as Madden.

If online play is real important ESPN would be a better choice. Madden doesn't support online for the Xbox.

How do you know if they're good? They're not out yet, so you couldn't have played them yet.

Well, so far I got Madden yesterday. Not sure what it is but I have really liked fever in the last couple of years. I will be getting Fever too this month. I'll have to think about ESPN. I bought the Sega series for the first time last year and I just couldn't get into it.

I'm only going with Fever this year. I really like the looks of read and lead passing.

Yes, you all are crazy.

I still play Madden 2002, and will only upgrade every 3 years or so. I rented 2003 last year, and didn't think it was that much better. Am I that far off base?

I think you are "that far off base". Unless you are a vidoe game fan & not a football fan. How can you possibly play an out dated sports game without the rosters being updated? For example, Jeremy Shockey isn't even in Madden 2002.

ESPN/NFL 2k series has been schooling Madden since their dreamcast days.

Its easy. Its not worth $50 for jeremy shockey.

You must really hate college football games. Nobody on the roster has a name.

Reason enough to buy it right there.

I didn't mean it's just worth updating ONLY for Shockey, I just pulled his name out of there b/c it was the first big name I could think of that has been added since 2002. But for me, at least, the updated rosters is probably the main reason I re-buy Madden every year. And no, I'm not into college games or sports.

I'll admit that one of the reasons (only one mind you) that I haven't updated my Madden 2002 Xbox is that the Vikings were still pretty good in the 2002 version (having just been beaten in the NFC Championship game), but are sucky in the 2003 and I imagine the 2004 versions.
If the Vikings had won it all last year, I definitely would be buying every football game out there, even for systems I don't own probably. Because for me, life will probably never be truly complete until the Vikings win it all. Yes, I know how sad that sounds.

I just might have to withdraw my statement about NFL2k/ESPN superiority. I just played the demo and it seemed pretty crappy.

I hope that demo is from an old old beta. They changed a lot of stuff, including the play calling which has been standard since the dreamcast versions. And the animations are off. I can only pray that the release version is a lot better.
