Super Gameboy Question (Zelda: Oracle of seasons) ?

I'm really wanting to play Zelda Oracle of Seasons And Zelda Oracle of Ages, for Gameboy Color. I have a Gameboy Advance but the screen bothers me too much to play for long periods of time. (No backlight, tiny viewing area, etc. etc.)

My local Gamestop has plenty of SUPER GAME BOYS for SNES ($4.99). Can the super gameboy play the oracle games? Or am i just going to have to wait and get a game boy player whenever i eventually purchase a gamecube?

I've searched the web, but not found a solid answer. I'm guessing it won't work. It would be too cheap and too easy of a solution.

Does anyone know for certain? Thanks for any help!

I think the Super Gameboy can play GB Color games? If so, then you could play Oracles...

It can't. The Super Gameboy only has the original GameBoy hardware on it, not the Gameboy color hardware.

I read a FAQ that said "Super Gameboy CAN play Gameboy color games, but not those that REQUIRE the gameboy color"...?? Thats what got me confused in first place.

I guess there were some gameboy color games (early on) that could be geared back to play on a regular gameboy. I think thats what that statement refers to. .. But, Zelda REQUIRES the gameboy color (according to the back of the box) so i'm probably out of luck there.

Oh well. It was worth asking some others.

Thanks!

Yup, Zeldas only run on a GBC so you're outta luck unless you have a Gamecube and get the new GBA player.

BTW.. I thought I add that the Seasons/Ages games are some of the finest 2D gaming I've played in a LONG time. The game linking thing is done so well and is quite innovative.

Heres what the gameboy player can play, the gray cartridges that the games were black and white and the black cartridges that were in color on gbc or black and white on an original gb and it would show up black and white on the gameboy player

I have both games and i've completed them 100%. They were incredibly fun, but they were missing that "Miyamoto Magic" that previous Zelda games had. A lot of the bosses were really cookie-cutter and just didn't fit into a Zelda game. Most of the puzzles weren't really puzzling either; in fact, you just have to remember what to use and when. Still worth playing although i would say that the original Zelda for GB is better.
