I'm interested in Enter the Matrix (and yes I've read the reviews ). Which of the three versions should I buy? Thanks!

Please God rent this first. A friend of mine brought this over and it is easily without any doubt in my head, the single worst game I have ever had the displeasure of watching played on my television. The fact that this is the best selling game for a solid month brings yet another tear to my eye in the everyday diminishing craptitude the video game world has entered.

That being said.. if you MUST get it, get the Xbox version obviously. If the 3 versions are the same, the Xbox version will probably have a slight edge if they decided to take use of the extra graphic power or 5.1 sound. If not, there's always the not wasting space on memory cards of other systems.

i hear it's worth it to just use a cheat to get thru it so you can watch the extra video. frankly, i can wait until it hits the bargain bin.

xbox version is the one i'd pick in general for any game now unless there is some critical factor (like EA's online support only for the PS2)

I agree with the opinion to rent it over buying it. Heck, I even reviewed it! It is a mediocre game at best and it is truly best as a rental. I'd hate to see you pay $50 for the game.

I'm thinking $20-$25. Have to call Gamestop and EBGames to see how many have been traded in. My price range may very well be a possibility.

I've heard that if you rent it, you can easily beat it within the rental period.

Considering how bad the game is rumored to be, it's on my 'rent' list.

Whatever console you're best at the controls at. That's what I base my decisions on, the graphics are never a big difference between the 3. Which ever controller feels best in my hand gets the vote that almost always goes to PS2.

Read some reviews where the PS2 version was .25 points better than the X-box version. Take that what you will.

Often gamespot.com will indicate on the main review page for a game, which version is best. It will show the game, the score for that system, that provide links to the game's other versions on other platforms. Next to the platform name that is the best, it will show an icon that says "BEST!"

That is a helpful guide. Note that some games are better on PS2 than Xbox or GCN. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 is an example. Also sometimes an FPS is better on Xbox than on PC. 007: Nightfire is a good example of this.

I am interested in NBA Street Volume 2. Which of the versions should I buy?

Only game I have ever witnessed better on PS2 is Need for Speed. There like two different games on PS2 and the on Xbox and Gamecube. What happened there?

I thought FF7 was a great game, just had a very lame ending.

I heard the PS2 version doesn't crash as much.

not sure what you mean by a PS2 version though. you mean compared to the PC version?

different development teams for different versions, that's why NFS Hot Pursuit 2 is so different from PS2 to Xbox/GCN

Gamespot recommends the PS2 version. This makes sense, considering the original NBA Street was designed for the PS2, including the controller/button scheme. NBA Street Vol2 has a similar control scheme, so I would think that the PS2 version might be best.

But I personally have no experience with Vol2 (only the first game), so I can't give a answer derived from experience.

should i try splinter cell on PS2 or GC, since I do not own an XBOX? Which has better controls...and does the GC have the best gfx?

PS2. The 4 turbo buttons are easy to reach (L1, L2, R1, R2). On X Box, two of the turbos are the analog buttons (you have to push in the sticks) and that makes it harder to push all 4 turbos at the same time for some moves. The graphics on X Box are a bit better, though.

ssx tricky is another game that i think the ps2 version's controls are better.

Comparing the X-Box, PS2, and GC version: the PS2 crashes less, at least that's what I read of heard somewhere.

EGM recommends the PS2 version of ETM over others simply b/c it doesn't crash as often as the GC/Xbox, LOL, what a sad way to distinguish itself.

Let me get down to the specifics:

1. Xbox graphics are better than the PS2...PS2 version has slight flickering. Both run at 60fps without a hiccup.

2. The PS2 version has 5 tiers of plays, while the Xbox version has 4. This does not mean that the PS2 has more moves, as each move is on all the systems. What it means is that you can employ more moves via the 4 turbo buttons than you can on the Xbox version (Turbo = R, L and left analog stick pushed in). The controls may sound difficult on the Xbox, but you will get used to them.

I chose the Xbox version and I certainly haven't felt bad about it. The whole tier thing would probably make people lean toward the PS2. It's a great game no matter what system you get it for.

PS2, friend of mine didn't have that glitch on him nearly as much as my copy of Enter the Matrix did for me on the Xbox, I redid one boss battle so much I was pratically sleeping through it by the time the game finally stopped locking up.

The XBox version of "Enter the Matrix" can tackle high-def (720p; 1080i), if that's a selling point. Ugly graphics in lower resolutions tend to translate to ugly graphics in higher resolutions, but still...

For some reason, I thought I'd read somewhere that "NBA Street 2" was in high-def for the XBox, but it looks like I'm mistaken...
