X Factor: Inside Microsoft's Xbox

I did a search and didn't see anything. Tonigth on the Discovery Channel, they are doing a special on the Xbox. It airs at 8:00 PM eastern time. Here's the description from there site:

Go behind the scenes as three teams race to create the next great American video game... and Microsoft battles to take over a $20 billion industry that's bigger than movies and records. Will Xbox be the next Windows? Stay tuned...

And here is the link.

Could be an interesting watch. enjoy...

Thanks for the post. I watched the show and it was pretty cool. It mostly talked about Crimson Skies which looks like it will be a pretty cool game.

It was interesting. Saw some neat "behind the scenes" stuff. Looks like it would be a pretty cool place to work (seems very casual and everyone is pretty young.)

That Abe game looked pretty tight. It a pretty interesting show. I was expecting a lot more, but it was still fun to watch.

You're thinking of the PC version which came out well over 2 years ago and this isn't even the same thing.

Xbox title is called Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge and the PC title is just Crimson Skies and wasn't very good - the Xbox version should be amazing. They are two different games.

It was kinda funny when the gamers that test played the first version of Crimson Skies said in a polite way that it sucked in the post test meeting.

When the head honcho said that he was gonna make some changes and then he (Narrarator) said that the Lead Designer was reassigned to another position, wonder what that position was? Janitor?

I definitely couldn't deal with that kinda stress. I mean to think that I develop a game that "I" think rocks, but my boss doesn't have that same feeling and I have to start all over again. My hats off to those developers. They definately have a tough job.

Did you guys see the Halo infancy footage? It hurt my eyes! I guess that was great graphics for a game starting development back in '97

I watched it this morning. Pretty interesting. I guess we now know why Crimson Skies has been delayed so much.

What doesn't really make the press releases.

I hadn't heard about a new Oddworld game. Is this one actually supposed to be set on Oddworld or is it a completely new world? I thought the producers opinion on Lanning was pretty interesting. I'd heard some stuff like that about him elsewhere - maybe penny arcade, but it's always interesting to hear it straight from the money man.

They were expecting another Oddworld game and he came up with an entirely different concept - I'm a little disappointed cuz I'd rather see a new Oddworld game than a shooter with a Clint Eastwood Lion Gorilla man.
