Halo 2 High Res E3 demo going up soon

Well todays the day.. in about a couple of hours the Halo 2 trailer will be going up in wmp 9

From the xbox site

The video will be released to the world on Friday, June 13, 2003, at 10:00 A.M. PDT. Windows Media Player 9 Series is necessary to view the demonstration in all its real-time, high-resolution (640x480), 5.1-channel-digital-surround-sound glory. Is your PC ready for the video's Windows Media Audio surround sound?

I will be at work but will still be cool.... Not sure of all the sites hosting this but i'm assuming that xbox.com and bungie.net are going to be doing some hosting... post impressions of the quality and gameplay (since it is a very good version supposedly, you can make out more detail) have fun

btw.. i searched and didn't find a thread on this, so if there is one then go ahead and delete this

This Site has a list of download providers

I suggest using bittorret if at all possible. I currently downloading mine from redvsblue.com. Good luck

The Bittorrent on this sucks - I'm uploading at 20kbps and downloading at 7kbps... that's not right... should be the other way around

Yeah, the bittorrent on this file sucks. Originally it was going to take me 9 hours with one in Bittorrent ++ and then I canceled that one and did one in regular bittorrent. 3+ hours. then I just downloaded it directly... 10 minutes

Wait, what? Where, who, how, when, and why? I didn't know there was a difference. Point me in the right direction please - cuz this is taking forever.

Bittorrent only took me 10 minutes on the redvsblue.com's servers, but that was right after lunch. I was get a download speed of 224kbps.

this link is were I downloaded it directly. Bittorrent is great for file sharing, but it sucks when there is 20 differently named files and versions of the torrents. the more torrents of a file out there the worse it is for everyone to get it since different folks are downloading different files when the principal part of bittorrent is for everyone to download (and upload) the same file.

Wait - you said you downloaded it on regular bittorrent and that it took you 10 minutes... you also said that bittorrent ++ was slow. Now you're saying you downloaded it from that link - which is busy now.

Guess the link is busy now, but when I used it, it was faster then bittorrent.

I think I tried to explain it (not to well) that there is a lot of different bittorrent named files for this. so not everyone is linked together in a sense sharing the same file. either way, it was faster for me to download from the site before I guess it got hammered.

My site is an official mirror on the bungie list. I've noticed most of the day it's been keeping up with download speeds of about 150k/sec. The link is at http://www.game2extreme.com/news/art...articleid=1892 .

I made it a member's only article so it would limit some of the number of people from downloading to keep the transfer rate at a good speed. Membership is free and I swear your email doesn't go anywhere. It's used just for our newsletter if you choose to receive it and that is almost never sent out. We're just trying to build a huge free gaming community.

So I'm still debating whether it's game footage or a cut-scene when Master Chief jumps on the oncoming ghost. Do you think that's a new gameplay addition? That would be really good if it was.

It's been said that jacking different rides in this game is a new feature so I'm pretty darn sure that is all in game.

The way he turned and cortana said Wait for it!!! Wait for it!!! sounds like she's giving you a cue to hit your button, and what if he wasn't in the exact right spot to trigger the cutscene then if he missed the ghost then what would you do since you need it in the ensuing cutscene later? So i personally believe it is a new gameplay element. I mean the aliens can do it to you, why can't you do it to them

I seemed more like a trigger effect. it's a cue. so you command and execute it but it's not something I can see you can do whenever you want but when the timing is right.

Well of course... like maybe the final will have a x button icon appear at the bottom of the screen for a split second when you are able to steal the vehicle.. So that you have to time it and have some actual skill to steal it from someone

I watch the video and for some reason there was an insane amount of slowdown on my computer. I hope its just a corrupted file and not the game itself. The game itself looks Poopy McTastic on a AI level, and the movements are just too unreal. When I saw the pods fall from the sky and land on the bridge, my only thought was, "I saw this before" and remembered that the exact same thing happened in FFX.

It looks like it could be fun, but I'll have to wait to play it on the PC, where FPS are meant to be played.

I used to totally agree with you. I've been a huge fan of PC FPS games since Wolfenstein 3D (a nice easter egg on the xbox RTCW btw). I never thought I'd enjoy a FPS unless it was on a PC with keyboard and mouse.

But Halo changed that.

It's a great game and they did a fantastic job on the control scheme. And there is just something about playing games on my couch in front of my TV.

I have tried to play FPS (never Halo) on a console, and I never liked it. It can never be as realistic as when playing on a computer. The way I understand it, the enemies reaction time is slowed to allow for the user to get the curser over to the enemy to shoot it. I don't like this. I like having the mouse and, when I see an emeny, being able to kill it in less than a second. I'm really into realism.
