What games are on your summer agenda?

For most, school is out and that means one thing: time to start up the videogames again. Well, maybe for some of us.

I don't know about you guys, but during the college year, besides the occassional drunk/party N64 playing, there is very little time for videogames, especially the single-player Splinter Cell or Halo types...or maybe this is just me once again.

But anyways, what games are you looking to play the hell out of this summer? Maybe their new, maybe their a bit older...

Depending on whether I get a PS2 or XBOX, here's what I'm playing...if I get an XBOX: Halo, Splinter Cell, NBA Street Vol. 2...and if I get a PS2: GTA:VC, NBA Street Vol. 2, Half-Life.

Should be fun either way.

Even though I don't get summer off, here's what on the table.

I just started Eternal Darkness. I hope to be finished by July 16th. Next come Stars Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, I'm sure that will last the majority of the summer. Also, I got to find time to finish FFX. I need to finish it before FF X-2 comes out. I think sometime in November.

With all the unopened games I have, I only plan the buy the two games mention above for the rest of the year. Yeah, right....

i plan on going through Vagrant Story completely. I never did finish that game, so I figure I should start over since its been a while and finish it. after that, I dunno. I will definately be playing Mega Man Battle Network 3 a lot when it comes out. then after that, I might go and finish Dark Cloud 2 or something, I am about half way through that. Or maybe I will give Enter the Matrix another rent and get through that. Unfortunately, I don't really have a week off of my full time job to sit down and play that til I beat it. That's my agenda so far. I really just want to get through Vagrant Story and MMBN3, those are my main objectives for the summer.

I've got to finish the following this summer:

Mario Sunshine - I only have 36 shines, so I gotta get crackin'

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - Just finished the Wind Temple...

The Hulk - I'm on Alcatraz, so I've got quite a bit left to do...

Metroid Prime - Borrowed this from a friend months ago and have yet to put it in the player...

Piglet's Big game - Gotta help my son through the last few dreams...

The Gameboy Player - Might have to keep this in the box for awhile...

Wario World - Might have to hold off on purchasing this, but I'm excited for it...

I just picked up Commandos 2 for the Xbox and that one will probably take me awhile to finish.

The only new game on my radar is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I'm on the fence about Soldier of Fortune II since I had it for the pc, but the lure of xbox live and the price ($39.99 - $5 coupon) may be too hard for me to pass up next week.

Games I own but haven't finished:

Splinter Cell
Amplitude
Metroid
Zelda
Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
Golden Sun
Eternal Darkness
Tony Hawk 3
The Thing
GTA: Vice City
Devil May Cry
Medal of Honor: Frontline

That's all I can think of at the moment

I will hopefully beat Halo on Heroic later this week. I'll wait on Legendary.

Here are the games I am considering picking up this summer. I only chose games that are being released between June 21 and September 23. I am also picking up the GBA player for my gamecube, which might encourage me to go out and get some GBA titles as well:

Pirates of the Carribean (PC)
Mario Golf (Gamecube)
Gladius (Xbox)
F-Zero (Gamecube)
Simpsons Hit and Run (Xbox)
Greyhawk: The Tomb of Elemental Evil (PC)

My summer agenda is to buy no games. Therefore I forsee having some very high level characters in PSO from lack of other stuff to play.

I'm in the same situation.

I plan on finishing:
  • Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
  • Metroid Prime
  • Need For Speed 2: Hot Pursuit
  • MotoGP3
  • Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (Xbox)
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Games I may buy if they get good reviews:
  • Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness (PS2)
  • The Great Escape (Xbox)
  • Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix (Xbox)
  • Downhill Domination
The only thing I have preordered right now is the Game Boy Player. Even though there are not a lot of highly-anticipated releases for this summer, I'm sure I'll have fun finishing some games and maybe playing some new ones.

LOTR: TTT is a lot of fun, especially mastering the one-hit-kill counter moves, but it's pretty darn short.

I'm working on Neverwinter Nights right now, and if it keeps my interest, I'll be playing that for a long time. Lots of people bag on the graphics as being a step backwards from Baldur's Gate 2, but the story is really great so far. Once I get done with that, I've got Freelancer waiting in the wings. And I still never finished either of the GTA games for PS2.

Seems like most of the games I'm waiting on don't drop 'til July or August.... Star Wars: KOTOR (although I might wait 'til Oct and get it on PC), NCAA Football 2004.

Games I might get:
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (XBox)

Games I plan on beating:
- Battle of Olympus (NES)
- Donkey Kong Country 3 (SNES)

- Snake's Revenge (NES)
- Hitman 2 (XBox)
- Crimson Skies (PC)
- Myth: The Fallen Lords (PC)
- Any game that I have and have already beaten at least once. If I didn't like it, I would have sold or traded it.

Lionheart and Greyhawk: Temple of Elemental Evil are the only games I'm looking forward to getting this summer, and both of them won't be released until the tail end.

Fortunately, I've still got some Black Isle games to finish up.

And I'm going to play Diablo 2 again, once 1.10 is released.

I try to cut back on my gaming in the summer and go out and get some sunshine. Gaming for me is primarily a winter hobby.
