PS2 USB Ports

I was moving my PS2 today and noticed it has 2 USB ports in the front...

What are they for?

headset for socom and the upcoming ea sports online games and you can plug a keyboard in there to chat in various games. other than that i dunno

I have a Logitech steering wheel that uses the USB ports. Also, my daughter uses it with a USB mouse.
