PS2 LE?

I didn't see anything about PS2 LE posted anywhere else so maybe this will help some other people looking for a PS2 that is different. I was searching around the playstation website trying to find any information and stumbled across this. Does anyone know anything about these? http://www.us.playstation.com/purchase/ps2_le/
Are these LE PS2s any different from the ones currently available?

There are 3 other colors: Blue, White, and Platinum/Silver. Also comes with a color coordinated base which is usually $15 alone. The PS2s are made with a different material, something along the lines of fiberglass.

Better to wait for the new model.

My brother painted his old PS one when he first got it like 5 years ago. It looked really good, alot better then that red PS2, and he used spray paint

Me either, they look kind of childish to me. I like all my electronics to match, and a see through green xbox would look kinda funny on top of a receiver or dvd player.

Or you could win one from the Moutain Dew promotion going on right now. Probably not identitcal and with a MD logo situated near the X, but it is the clear green.

hmmm.... xbox and childish... those words don't seem so disparate to me.

i like the LE editions of the PS2 but i don't think they're worth that much of a premium. maybe $25 more.
