How do I rename my xbox?

I was playing on XBconnect.com, and encountered someone named ballcancer. Obviously this wasn't given to him, and my box Howard is jealous. The guy said something cryptic about DOA3 letting you do it, but can anyone tell me the answer to this definitively?

I don't know what is scarier here: The fact that you can name a gaming machine, or that he named his Howard?

did a quick search on yahoo...came up with this:

"We renamed our xbox using DOA survival mode. We aren't sure how many wins you need. It only took us one win to change our name, but some sources say it takes ten. When it gives you the chance to enter your name it should display your current xbox name. Enter a new name and that will be your xbox name. If you don't want to buy Dead or Alive, you should be able to rent it or borrow it from a friend."

cant vouch for this since I didnt personally try this...

If you join a system link game, for each box, it will show a name of the box, and a name for each player on each box. The box name is factory installed. My guy is called Howard, which is why I want to rename it.

I would call mine "Box of Doom" in reference to Invader Zim!

I would call mine "Small Child Squisher" in reference to the instruction manual.

You can also get a high score in MotoGP to 'rename' the Box. I've heard (and it sounds more likely than a factory given name) that Microsoft had a feature to remember the name you input for top score lists so if you play another game, it will pop up with the name you used in the last top score list in another game. Halo 'misused' this feature by putting a random name in as the top score name, and using that name for system link.
