UPS dropped off some info that all the game systems will have a price drop around E3 time
"new low price," $150 for xbox and ps2, $100 for gamecube. woot woot |
Cool, now we have a second source on this. dek spotted this same info in a thread over at that chubby billfold site -
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=288568 So, where was the brown santa making his delivery in your case ? :D |
at $99 I have to believe that GC sales will pick up.

What does UPS have to do with price drops?
If he works for a retailer, UPS would drop off their document pouches.
Excellent. I've already got all 3 systems(and am actually contemplating selling my PS2) but I'm modding my 1.0 XBox and if I destroy it it'll be nice to know I can pick up another one for 50 bucks less(though if I destroy 1 xbox i'm not gonna take the chance of modding another):)

I warned my sister in law to hold off buying her daughter a PS2 for her b'day untill E3 time ( her b'day is May 5th).
As usual both Microsoft and Sony will deny right up untill the zero hour. Why have people wait when you can squeeze a few more bucks out of the "less savvy". Then as soon as one announces a price drop they all will across the board. I read in PSM a while back that in Japan, Sony has been bundling the PS2 with Ratchet and Clank. There was talk of that bundle coming to the US but it's probably not since R&C is still selling pretty well. |

Originally posted by Alvis Will Best Buy give a refund on a price drop within a certain period? They currently have severl Xboxes with a August 2002 manufacture date, which should make them version 1.0 or 1.1 which means I should have no worries in puting in my mod chip. I'm afraid if I wait until they acutally go down to $150, I might not get the version I want. |

Originally posted by darkside Don't know. The competition will be $50 cheaper as well. |
Will it be the smaller, redesigned Xbox as well?
Decker, the smaller Xbox dosn't come out for a few months I thought...
I will confirm those prices. MS told me no smaller Xbox though.
Oh yeah. You beat me to the post by 8 hours. Damn...
this is for the bundled gamecube systems? btw, i thought the zelda bundle is available. yet, at ebgames, i don't see it listed. just the original 4 game bundles.
The Zelda Bundle replaces RE0 sometime in May.
will gamecube and xbox still bundle games at the new prices?
Check Walmart for The GC Zelda Bundle, ones i saw also included the pre-order discs with it,:D didnt see any black GC's tho :(
Still just the idea of a next-gen game system under $100 has got to get a lot of attention and I'm sure sales will pick up.
GC for $100...does this mean the GBAsp will be dropping in price as well?
The SP is selling like hotcakes, no way we'll see a price drop on it in May. They'll wait until sales slow down before even thinking about a price drop.
It is sad though the SP and GC would be selling for about the same price.
