Basically all the usual questions....

I have it - it's flawed, but innovative in many ways. It's been awhile since I played it, but I know it's certainly worth a bargain price (under 20 bucks). It's a tactical shooter like Ghost Recon. The graphics are good, but might be starting to show signs of aging. I can't remember what the flaws were - check reviews cuz I'm sure they point them out.

I agree with Trigger on this one. Cool in that you can pick up basically any weapon on the battlefield and use it, and also control several different vehicles. Frustrating because it's so easy to die (realistic, but sometimes overly so... you'll get one-shot-killed from people who are impossibly far away, possibly by a stray bullet... they show what killed you after you die, which is a nice touch) and because the control scheme is clumsy (for ordering around teammates and driving a tank... ugh, tank driving is frustrating).

However, it's not totally crap. I'll sell you a copy cheap if you want mine.

It's a pretty good game overall. There a lot of good action levels like Ghost Recon but there also some stealth-heavy missions and tank, helicopter and plane missions which aren't so good. There are some boring strecthes though, like running through the woods for 15 minutes without seeing any enemies. Anyways, it's worth a try. I think the original game has over 50 missions and the Gold Edition comes with the expansion pack too.

I thought I had read an article about there being a sequel to this game in the works that is supposed to fix all that was wrong with this one... if my memory is serving me right, I'll totally pick that up.

My best buddy swore by this game, then switched to America's Army.

America's Army is free. 'nuff said.

It's a decent game - not as good as Ghost Recon, but the graphics are nice. The play is kinda tactical, but you're more on your own. I think Operation Flashpoint is a little better - but America's Army has more players.
