How can you guys buy NES games at gamestop? I think that they are way over priced. I usually get mine at yard sales or other used shops.

Crapstop, when they decide to carry NES games, SOMETIMES has reasonable prices. Flea Markets are usually a good idea, if you have a Trader's Village or something nearby.

At the Gamestop near me, the NES games are usually $.89 - $1.99. Only the really popular ones (Contra, Mega Man, etc) are overpriced... but I already have all of those titles.

I went in one time and picked up 17 games for $20. Even the guy at the counter couldn't believe it.

I actually scored a box of games from my sister the other day.

Just when I was ready to disown her.

She managed to find me Zelda, Link, Double Dribble, TMNT Arcade, SMB 1-3, Ice Hockey, Metroid, Mega Man 2, Castlevania - among others. If only I had Contra - my NES collection would be complete.

Rainbow Island is Bubble Bobble 2?

I never know that, I just assume it is a different game altogether (it has a different name, different characters, different play mechanics).

Bubble Symphony (I have this on Saturn), I thought this is more like a sidequest (gaiden) than a sequel to BB...

Bubble Bobble 2 is cool, it is like Bubble Symphony in many ways.

Taito really needs to straighten out its own series.

Rainbow Islands has the SAME CHARACTERS!! Remeber they turn human at the end of Bubble Bobble.

Bubble Symphony is one of the many reasons I still have an active Sega Saturn, that game totally rawks.

After reading this post i went over to Ebay to check it out and bought one Buy It Now for $6.99. I got it just incase i need it one day which probably i might. Thanx dude!

Man, I fried mine back in 93 trying to map the pinouts of the option port on the bottom. Dang. At least I still have my 2600 and Wico sticks!

Oh man, I have finished BB and I TOTALLY forgot that Bub and Bob turned into human.... Can't blame me seeing how all the other bubble bobbles they are still baby dragons (except Rainbow Island which is kinda, bad).

I have my old NES, but I prefer playing all of it's titles on Nester DC for the Dreamcast. A guy at a vid. game shop gave it to me.

It's all 1600 (yes, 1600) NES games on one disc, including japanese games that were never released here (Transformers comes to mind). It even saves on the VMU.

Gotta love it.

I still have my NES and SNES, but I haven't used them in quite some time.

Goodwill stores are a good place to look, I found a mint NES system there with controllers (no hook ups though) for only 10 bucks, with no taxes by the way, Ive only purchased games that I know I have wanted for this NES as my gaming collection spans ten systems and over 180 games total, I know I havent the time to play it all

you have to beat all 99 levels then the lettered ones
then all of the 'super' levels where they were just
different colors and monsters
the game has like over 250 levels

If you use EIGBI and continue your at the last level
if you start a new game with it your at 'super' level 1

I love bringing out my old NES every couple months. It's a breathe of fresh air playing those games sometimes. Less thinking.

I loved the first iteration even though I sucked at it (how the heck do you do the "candleabra" level 19 without getting stuck in the slots and dying all the time? sheesh!)

I think I still have my original (old NES model) consol in a box in an attic.

But I do have an emmulator, and a whole bunch of games, that I spent hours of my childhood on, even beating some that I couldn't back in the day.

And a whole lot more. I'm glad them made an emmulator, because hell I'm sure 1/2 the games probably don't work anymore or console for that matter.

Just last year I re-bought and entire NES package and I love playing every once in a while when the new stuff bores me.

When I was younger, about 12 years ago, I sold my NES, 112 games plus all the accesories for $200 bucks. I need the cash badly back then...

I would never do that again, needless to say NES is still cool....

I've never owned any Nintendo system... not even a Gameboy. I assure you though, if I did have one - I'd still own it today because I'm a serious pack rat. I still have an Apple 2gs and my Atari 2600.

I have every NES US Release 750+ Titles except for the 3 adult titles by Panesian: Hot Slots, Peek A Boo Pker, and Bubble Bath Babes. 90% of mine are complete with the box/instructions/maps/inserts Here is a pic of my gameroom from last year: (hope it shows up if not, just try the link)

Also Stadium Events is considered the most rare NTSC release with only 5-6 complete (box and manual) copies known to exist (one of which i have), 2 of which are sealed. A loose copy will fetch 200-400 dollars. Recently a complete copy sold on ebay here for almost 2k :

As you can see the value is substantially different between loose and complete.

The pad is the same for North America and Europe that is why the price is low. The box however would substantially increase the value as well. You can barely see mine in the above picture on the top NES shelf in the middle near the ceiling.
