Whats a good fighterjet fligtsim w/ carriers?

I was looking for a good flightsim that lets you fly missions of a carrier of some kind (at least sometimes).

And maybe some of the newer planes as well.

Unfortunately I am so not in touch with the FS market out there.

I dont need 100% realism.. I want to hook up my Wingman joystick and go bomb some baddies..

Any suggestions?

I kind of got out of flight sims quite a while ago, so I can't suggest anything specific. However, it used to be a pretty safe bet, and probably still is, anything that had "Jane's" in the title was a pretty good game with decent realism.

Agree with Mongo. However there's few decent flight sims coming out nowadays. Too bad since that's one of my favourite genre. The last time I played flight simulation with ravan's description is Jane's F/A-18 Hornet. Quite a long time ago.

Same here. Back when I'm still on elementary school I used to play F-19 Stealth Fighter and at that time that was... wow. The most complex game I've ever played. I play that game on 5.25" floppy and no joystick.
Some of the most memorable flight sim games I've played is Red Baron, Aces Over Europe, Gunship, and of course my all time favourite, 1942: Pacific Air War. Damn... I really miss those day when I struggling so hard just to keep my Wildcat from stalling.

These are the last Flight Sim games that I played:

Ace Combat 04: Shattered Sky (PS2) - with carrier landings/takeoff

Apache (PC)
Comanche (PC)
Falcon 3.0 (PC)
Mig 29 (PC)

For the above PC games, I also bought the Thrustmaster HOTAS (WCS and FCS) system and Rudder pedal.

That was one hell of a dream joystick. Too bad I have to settle with my Wingman Extreme...

I got the older Mark II series with rudder pedals. I spent around $300 at the time for the setup. :-(
