Gallant Pig 03-21-03 04:01 PM

Nice scores can't wait!

mixalot007 03-21-03 04:35 PM

I believe EGM gave it a 10/10/9.5

Deftones 03-21-03 05:02 PM

Man, this is going to be great. My woman will be out of town, so that leaves for several days of uninterrupted playing!

don't over do it deft :) too much "wakering" can cause severe hand cramps!

Homer Simpson 03-21-03 07:37 PM

I don't want to hear it. I'm leaving on Vacation on Monday and will have to do without for a week until I get back. Even worse, my brother has a week head start on me.

MrX 03-21-03 11:40 PM

Game Informer gave it a 10 also

kvrdave 03-22-03 12:00 AM

I have been suprised at the great reviews. I expect it to be good, but I keep seeing the graphics and thinking they look just so-so, yet the reviews go nuts for the graphics. I have decided it must look a lot better live than in a still.

I've told all my friends who are bashing the game that very thing. It plays a million times better than it looks in a still. The demos at Wal-Mart are usually a waste but when they got this demo I was all over it.

Screenshots are nice and all but to see it in action is a whole different thing. :D

Agreed, which is why I rented it tonight :D. Im not going to say anything about the story, all I can tell you is that if you love the Zelda series, you will fall in love with this game. Im enjoying it as much, if not more than I enjoyed Mario Sunshine and Metroid Prime.

Easily a contender for game of the year.

huh? 03-22-03 06:37 AM

according to www.gamerankings.com this incarnation of Zelda is the second highest ranked game on their site ever.

(just look at the stats when you click on the game, they should be on the righthand side of the screen)

I cannot wait for this to come out as I have had it pre-ordered for quite awhile. I have been playing Ocarina of Time, on my Cube, for sometime and I still enjoy it. Today I was at EB and they had a playable demo of the game. I was also very hesitant of the games graphics but once I played the demo I no longer had any worries. The game is absolutely beautiful in motion. It looks like you are playing an interactive cartoon. If you want to compare how Zelda looks to a similar game, at least graphically, then choose Sly Cooper for the PS2. I thought those graphics were so-so but after playing it my mind changed immediately.

UncleGramps 03-24-03 03:08 PM

Tonight's the night

Just got a call from the Gamestop where I pre-ordered, and apparently they'll have Zelda available by 6 PM tonight! Life is good.

mtucker 03-24-03 04:02 PM

Could someone chime in when they receive their pre-order from ebgames.com? I was hoping God would smile upon me and have Zelda in my mailbox today, but no such luck.

Ghym 03-24-03 04:38 PM

mtucker - I ordered mine from ebgames.com as well. I checked my order and there's a tracking number and says it ships today, but it doesn't show activity yet. Should get it in a couple of days. If you go to the EBgames web page and check your orders, you should see a tracking number down at the bottom of the screen.

mtucker 03-24-03 04:51 PM

Yes, that makes sense. I just checked. Shipped today, scheduled to arrive tommorrow. Nice.

Keyser Soze 03-24-03 05:12 PM

Picked up my Zelda a little earlier today at my local funco...

Nope, not watching ANY war coverage tonight!

Gromit 03-24-03 05:22 PM

2 day FedEx shipping from ebgames.com for me, so I'll have it on Wednesday. At least I have enough other stuff to keep me busy, but I have a SOCOM game scheduled on Wednesday night. DOH!

Are you sure you are talking about Zelda? :)

I can't wait either, from what I played of the demo, the game looks great.

MasterofDVD 03-24-03 06:56 PM

Just got back from my local Babbages and there sure was a heck of a line forming behind me as I waited for the shipment to arrive from the airport.

I'm all set and ready to try it out. Bought the guide since they had a deal but I'm not even going to open it. I don't want to ruin this experience.

Keyser Soze 03-24-03 06:58 PM

1st impressions:

:jawdrop: wow.

I cannot wait till tomorrow. I pre-ordered from an EB in a local mall so I will get it tomorrow and I have my day all worked out. Be at my EB tomorrow when it opens, with 7 month old daughter in tow, pick up Zelda, go home and put her to sleep so I can have a solid two hours to play, go to work at 4:00 and stay up all night once I get home playing as I have off the following day.

darkside 03-24-03 07:53 PM

Just got home with Zelda and I'm off to play.

MasterofDVD 03-24-03 08:09 PM

Amazing. To think people out there hate the graphics so much that they will miss out on a game like this. They have no idea what a great game they are missing out on.

I just my friends would stop talking to me online. They all want to know how it is and I just want to play!!!!!

...and yet, you're here talking about it. Go play!

glassdragon 03-24-03 09:41 PM

The local ebgames is getting my copy in by noon tommorow.. they called me earlier

Copenhagen 03-24-03 10:08 PM

Well I got a few hours in and I'm very impressed and all I can say so far is wow. Off to play some more :)

vhgong 03-24-03 10:19 PM

Never played Zelda before but bought it and its a good game. Loving it.
Btw, EB has a deal that if you resell Zelda and the bonus disc, you will get $45 bucks in credit(but u have to do it by 1st May). So if you finish it, just return it to EB with the Zelda coupon, and you are all set. Great deal if you asked me!!

Cardiff Giant11 03-24-03 11:22 PM

vhgong,
I think that's actually a pretty bad deal. I think when some time passes, the OoT bonus disc is gonna be a collector's item and may be worth quite a bit on its own. I'm not gonna unload mine as long as I still have my cube but YMMV.

mmconhea 03-25-03 10:12 AM

IGN.com: 9.6/10 [/B]
hmmm. Nintendo must not have paid them off enough to get a 10.

Josh H 03-25-03 12:49 PM

I won't be able to play this for a while. I'm out of town for spring break so I can't pick up my copy. Chances are they'll be sold out when I get back as they only hold pre-orders for 48 hours. On the bright side I quit my job so I will have some time to play it and still get my school work done, at least until I find another job anyway.

rgarcia 03-25-03 01:34 PM

Quick Question?

Call me a late bloomer. I just picked up the bonus disk this past Sunday. I'm about 3 hours into the first game.

Do I need to complete the bonus disk to enjoy the new Zelda game? Will I miss part of the storyline if i do not complete the bonus disk? Finally, how long does it take the complete the first game on the bonus disk. I take it that the second game is the first game with more dungeons? Correct me if I am wrong, thanks...

random123 03-25-03 02:04 PM

this game rocks, i felt so special when some other guy asked the eb person if they had any copies, then she said only for pre orders, then i gave her my pre order slip :-D

~~ PAL ~~ 03-25-03 02:10 PM

I will be picking up my pre-order copy from EB tonight on the way home. :)

frstdejo 03-25-03 03:28 PM

I picked my copy up last night along with a GB Advance to GC connector cable. Does anyone know if this same cable is going to work on the GBA SP? Thanks

glassdragon 03-25-03 03:32 PM

Ahhhhhh this is gonna suck... i'm picking it up on the way to work and then i have to work 5 hours with it in my car and not being able to play it

Deftones 03-25-03 03:43 PM

Any place selling this today w/o having a preorder? I have a pre-order w/ BB, but I want to play it tonight. I checked Target and Wal-mart, and neither is selling it until tomorrow, at least in my area.

jdpatri 03-25-03 04:29 PM

Will you still get the bonus disc if you buy it from Target or Wal-mart tomorrow?

slop101 03-25-03 05:13 PM

It is not unlike playing a Miyazaki anime film.

Exactly! I'm still waiting for the cat bus to fly across the trees overhead.

This game is AMAZING so far.
