Refurbished GC 90 dollars

Sorry if this was posted before but i searched and didn't find anything... Well i went to a local Eb Games store and got a GC for 89 dollars refurbished. now i know you can get a free game with the 150 dollar one but if you think about it 90 + 50 = 140 so you are actually saving 10 bucks (which you can use to preorder zelda and get the free Zelda OOT disc) ... if this was posted before then let me know so i can delete it.

Is this available at all Hollywood Video stores or just at GameCrazy locations (we currently don't have a Gamecrazy, but I think one of the local Hollywood videos is being converted)

What's the deal for refurbed X-Boxes?

Refurbished are just systems that didn't work right under warranty so they were sent back to the company (nintendo, microsoft, sony) an fixed to be resold.. my GC works just fine and they gave me a 1 year warranty for 10 bucks at eb games. And Refurbed xbox's are like 149 i think

So basically you payed the same price as a new one (figuring in the price of your 1 year warranty, which Nintendo supplies for 1 year when you buy a new one + assuming you wanted one of the games that would have been free with a new one)... don't get me wrong I can understand doing this as I want an X-Box but am not to interested in the currently bundled in games.

Last gen I bought my PSX refurbed... I'd definitely buy a refurb before I'd buy a used system. The refurb's usually have gone back to the factory and been reconditioned/repaired and often come with some type of warranty.

No, it isn't. Are prices on games are generally $5 cheaper than EB, and are system (when used) can be anywehre from $10-$30 cheaper than EB. Were popping up everywhere...keep a look-out.

Also, the deal is only available at Game Crazy Stores, not hollywood videos.

Also you can buy a 1 year warranty for 20 more dollars to cover any further defects.

I just went to the Gamecrazy in Compton, CA. They said that the 12 free rentals only applied to brand new consoles and not the refurbished ones. They also told me that there is only a seven-day return policy and the console has to be unopened. I went ahead and bought a GC anyway, but I was wondering if I could go to another Gamecrazy and ask for the free rentals and just say the other store didn't mention anything about the free rentals.

That sounds....wrong. In my store we give the 12 free rentals with the refurbished decks. Id go back with the reciept and ask just to make sure. But dont go to another GameCrazy go where you bought the system. However Im in a completely different district and the policy may be different.

Ok, so maybe the Compton store manager is just not being nice (I did talk to the store manager btw), but I called two other stores in my area and they also said that the refurbished consoles do not qualify for the 12 free rentals. So I guess I'm out of luck where I am.

What I really don't understand is why do the Gamecube refurbs have no warranty? If they're fixed and tested by the manufacturer, shouldn't they offer some kind of warranty (at least a month)? 7 days is ridiculous in my opinion. I might end up returning the one I bought because of this. It's for a friend and I don't want him to be stuck w/ a faulty console since I don't want to open it, and I can't get it to him until this weekend, which would only give him like 2 days to try it out.

If you buy a refurb from a retailer, Sony will still give you a 90-day warranty from time of purchase, just keep the receipt (or give it to your friend). At least this was the policy while I was there.

Give them a call to verify before you return: 1-800-345-7669.
