C&C: Generals

Hi, I have red alert 1&2. Anyone know how the new one is? I hope that someday they make a WW2 red alert style game!

Yeah, Multiplayer and generally the whole lay out is the same but the graphics are very nicely done. the vehicles are great and the AI is pretty good.

Over all very nice.

Very good game. They finally got rid of those stupid one man missions. The three factions are pretty cool. The vehicles are neat and and have a pretty good AI. remember red alert when the stupid vehicle would go right into the enemy?

Very fun game. Online Multiplay lobby is a total mess though. Worst design ever, You would think after all these years they would standardize these things somewhat. Oh well, still fun.

This game is excellent. The online play is a ton of fun, but has been plagued with issues since it's release. (They are almost up to patch 1.5, 'nuff said). The units and factions are all very cool, gotta love bombing the crap out of those terrorists . You will need a pretty good PC to run the game though.

I borrowed a copy from my friend and couldn't get the game to work online with a Linksys router. Even the solutions posted on their forums didn't work for me. Was thinkg about buying it, but until they fix that problem I don't think I will. Killer singler player campaign, but a bit short.

I play online behind a Linksys router with no problems at all. Perhaps your problem was borrowing your friend's game (and serial) which can only work for one person...

Hmmm...that's odd. My friend never played his game online on EA's servers just with the direct connect function. I was trying to do the same. For some strange reason both IPs shown was the router's IP. There just was no way for my game to see my external IP. Ah well, I already beat the single player campaigns and returned the game to him since he kept on bitching to want it back. :P

Yea I feel your pain!

I hope that someday they make a C&C game that is based on a WW2 type timeline. One in which worldwide strategy and war(economic, military ,troop training & placement, larger real maps) is the basis of the game. Of course then everyone would have to upgrade their computer again! I can hope though right?
