Big PS2 games of 2003 (from IGN)

Good God I just looked at this list and almost got depressed. I barely have time for the games I'm working on now. And this is just Part 1 of the list!!! I shudder to think what Part 2 will add to the mix. Looks like the second half of the year will be pretty freakin' busy. It might actually be a blessing in disguise if Sony slipped on some of these releases from 2003 to give everyone some time to focus on some games (and make some $$ to buy them!). Also if these are the big releases, I wonder what the "smaller" releases have in store.....

EDIT: I'm most looking forward to Gran Turismo 4 (online). My social life is going to suffer big time because if this game.

The only games on that list I'm looking forward to are Castlevania and Soul Calibur II. Colony Wars online sounds intriguing, but I doubt it will be out this year.

Here are the games I want from that list:
Clock Tower 3 ( but will wait until it is $20)
Ghouls and Ghosts online (xbox version)
RE Dead Aim
Maximo 2
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Ridge Racer 6 (xbox version)
Soul Calibur 2 (xbox version)
Tekken 5
Time Crisis 3
Destruction Derbys arenas( WOW I never even heard about this game hopefully it is just liek the orginal DD on psx)
HSG Online
GT4
Syphon Filter online
Streets of Rage

15 games but I would bet most of them wont come out in 2003.

Shining RPG: The much-loved Shining Series is rumored to be heading to PS2.

I hope this is a new Shining Force Game

Capcom has the rights to the Clock Tower series now? That's news to me.

Anyway, there are too many games for me to list here that I want... there are TONS.

Dang that is list to be excited about, but when half of it is based on speculation and rumors they normally all ways are. Here is to 98 percent of that list becoming true in next 12 months. That would be great ride!

Well Metal Gear Solid 3 probably won't be out but I'm drooling over that TMNT game. I so hope its good. Street Figher 4 sounds sweet, that one with Jet Li looks cool along with that other game where your an investigator going back in time. Of course this is all speculation and most of these games will probably suck its nice to get your hopes up.

I'm not a PS2 fan but even I can't say anything bad about the list (besides the massive speculation and presumptions). On top of that many of the best titles seem to be console exclusive (which I feel they didn't really pull off this past year). Go sony.

This would be my List
Castlevania (it is in 2d BTW)
Metal Gear Solid 3 (is this console exclusive?)
Final Fantasies
Dragon Warior
and many others

I doubt it if more than half the list will be out in 2003. Come on RE4 is slated for 2004. We'll know more come E3. If they can show all these games Sony might have a banner year.

And this doesn't even include the game I am looking forward to the most: 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse

I can't get excited about these sorts of lists. It's so early and so many good games slip below the radar. At last year's E3, besides Nintendo's obvious big guns, there was no hype that panned out. Huge, great games like Splinter Cell and Ratchet & Clank weren't even on the radar.
I also have a hard time getting too excited for wave after wave of sequels. While some (like Metroid Fuson and GTA Vice City) are great, I'm getting pretty upset at the lack of original gaming ideas out there.

Having said all that, will I still buy GT4 the moment it comes out? HELL HEY!!!

I'm looking forward to a huge amount of games on that list. If only a few of them come out this year I'll be happy, considering I have so many other games to finish right now anyway, and so little money.......

OMG. If this is a continuation of the Shining Force series which I loved, I can't wait. I remember this series from the Genesis days, and have wished for a more modern version for the PS2.

This is the same series we're talking about, right? Maybe I'm just losing my mind though...

I hope so too, but there were some Shining RPGs (such as Shining in the Darkness) which were really dungeon intensive. Hopefully this one is more like the Shining Force games (it says much-loved, so it should be).
