Who's gonna get Return to Castle Wolfenstein XBOX?

How many of you guys are planning on getting Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Tides of War for Xbox? I'm kinda sitting on the fence on this one and was wondering what some of you guys were planning on getting in terms of XBL games.

I read the preview in OXM and they said something like RtCW is like a bit like Unreal championship with some GR elements. Maybe I'll just keep playing GR until Halo2 and ravenshield come out

I know it's funny, being a big Xbox fan and all.. but these kind of games really don't interest me much.

Shame I can't get into them though, they are fun.

Hey Pixy,

I can understand. My friend really likes sports games like football, basketball, and hockey but I really can't get into them as much. I am tempted by Phastasy Online for xbox as well. It is coming out soon but I'm a little too cheap to pay that 8.95 "hunter license/monthly fee" after the initial free period.

I had never played RTCW before about 2 days ago. I downloaded the old PC demo on my new PC just to see how it could run games.

I really wanted the XBOX version before and now I'm sure I'm going to pick it up. I can't stand most sports game so for know FPS games are all I guess I'll be playing on Live.

ditto ditto. I've held off from the PC version just to get it on XBL.

I've played it through on the PC, and it's a pretty excellent FPS. Some of the level designs are terrific and the stealth levels are extremely challenging. I also dig the whole Dubya-Dubya 2 setting and some of the abstracted Nazi tech. It's a lot of fun.

Having said that, it's not a particularly inventive game... it's sort of like the last generation FPSs like Quake 2 or Unreal with better graphics and a better setting.

I will not be buying it, but manily because I've already got it.

Is it still being released on 3/26?

I plan on getting it. Online play plus 2 player co-op sounds great.

Beat it on PC. IMO the single player story pretty much sucks -- just not very interesting, drab levels, etc. However, multiplayer is a lot of fun, and it'll definitely be one to pick up for LIVE. Who knows, maybe with the new levels and whatnot, I'll enjoy it more the second time through using the Xbox controller.

It's on my list but I'll probably wait for some reviews before I buy it.

Same here. I haven't played any of the PC versions and have been waiting for this. It will hopefully live up to expectations.

Definitely going to pick this one up. The co-operative + multiplayer gameplay will get the most use in my XBOX.

I have the PC version, and I have to agree with Tuan Jim. The single-player game is somewhat drab, and though it has some nice moments (the zombie levels made me jump), it's too short, and just feels uninspired. I haven't played it online, so I can't really comment on multiplayer, but if you're going to buy it just for the single-player, you're probably better off getting a decent classic PC FPS (there are some good ones that you can get for bargain prices).

I loved the single player but I'm one who has almost zero interest in multiplayer. I never really understood the fasination....

I loved it on the PC and played the multiplayer for hours and hours, but I think I've moved on - I'll certainly pick it up used for like 25 bucks though sometime.

I hated the single player, so I'll avoid this. I guess I was just expecting more realism in the single player mode.

Just the opposite here. I really liked the single player but couldn't care less about the multiplayer. It's probably the same reason I was a big fan of MOHAA on the PC but stayed away from 1942.....

If you're into multiplayer like I am, I'd favor the PC release over the XBL. There are so many more levels and simple yet so effective mods available for download. If you thought the servers on RTCW multiplayer sucked.. upgrade your installed version of 1.1 to 1.3 or what i have, 1.4. There are SO MANY more servers and the level of competition is better. These servers are better with their better pings, better rules (on kicking team-killer players and so forth) and player load capabilities. Some servers support up to 64 players in a single level!! The add-on levels mae it a whole new ballgame with Operation MarketGarden and Tram, as well as a bunch of others. Cheating (if it even exists in this game) is prevented through the use of Punkbuster software in the upgrades. There are game type mods such as goldrush, and others i might not be aware of. In 1.4 and 1.3, after each round there are game stats during the warm up screen such as most kills, most deaths, most revives, most efficient, etc. Oh yea.. the game can also integrate medics with POISON needle capability and even throwing knives! Fun Fun fun!

kittycarnage.com is one of them, but there are so many more mod sites that I've never gotten around to. I de-stress on RTCW almost everyday after work.

i'm skipping the xbox version.

i played the demo today. i know that demos are often limited. i just hope that the controller is much more configurable then the demo version.

the graphics are nice, but definitely not "realisitic" like GR or SC

the game (not demo) is Live compaitable correct? does anyone know the release date? was it this past tuesday? or nect week.

i will get the game if it is LIVE and the controls are more configurable.
