XBOX DVD Player question
Hi,
Is it bad to "overuse" the fast forward function on your XBOX?
I watch a lot of movies, so much that to watch them quicker I often times "Scan" them, watching them at 2X with subtitles on so the forward function is almost always used. I'm worried that doing this may put a lot of wear and tear on the XBOX.
It's always been noisy, I can hear when the cooling fan or something goes up a notch because a whirring sound gets slightly more pronounced. I haven't really seen any big problems yet though...
Does anyone who knows electronics or lasers know if this will put unnecessary wear and tear on the player long term or the laser?
Thanks

Not sure of the answer but I stopped using my xbox as a dvd player because hopefully, less wear on my xbox will increase its overall life span.
besides, i have my dvd player hooked up to the same tv so no bigger for me

Thanks for the comment. Any others? It's odd, I use my XBOX primarily as a DVD player because of its smooth 2x playback that my standalone doesn't do well.
Anyone else?
