I would be very, very careful about what games you resell. I have repurchased a snes/n64 and misc games that i really enjoyed.

The $$ might be an issue, but in the long run you might thank yourself!

Translation:
1) My PC sucks and I can't afford a new one (or I own a mac).
2) I suck at 3D shooters and I suck worse at death matches.
3) I don't like to think when I'm playing games.
4) I don't have have high speed internet and I'm too cheap to hook it up.

j/k... I'm in a similar situation. No pc games for me, no 3D shooters, no online games, but, on the other hand, if I had the time and a decent pc I would play strategy games. Believe it or not I still spend most of my gaming time on Super Monkey Ball...

I lost interest in video games for awhile, but I was hooked on a MMORPG for PC (Asheron's Call). Now my interest in that game has waned considerably (after almost 3 years) and I am really into the Xbox and my Neo Geo again.

So it is just a phase, for me anyway.

I lost interest in video games for that past few years. I didnt' have any newer system that a Sega Genesis. So I didnt' play for a few years. Then I bought a PS2, And everything is new and fresh and amazing.

TEMPEST 4000!!!

I mean, Tempest 2000 for the Saturn was a great diversion for me. It was one of those games I could pick up and play for five minutes to an hour at a time. I loved the music, the visuals, the intensity. Never had a NUON but I'm jealous other consoles never got Tempest 3000. Now, I think it's time the next-gen consoles get an update to this classic. The graphical power of today's consoles, and the better-suited controllers, would make this the answer to everyone's prayers.

So who would have rights to this game now? Tempest 2000 was released by Interplay, I don't know who published Tempest 3000. I would assume it would be Infogrames since they have the Atari brand.

Please please PLEASE! If there are any industry-folk lurking in these forums I beg you to give us Tempest 4000!

Nope, not yet anway and I hope i don't. When I become really busy with school work I put games on the backburner but i never have problems getting back into them. I guess I'm still a young'un though compared to some of you guys .

For me it's the fact that I can't stand the selection of new games out there. I don't wish to play what is IMO some lame RPG or some easy platformer where they make me collect things endlessly. Basically I'm tired of the lack of difficulty and depth involved in today's games. I'd settle for a 2D shooter where I can play for score endlessly and not even think about beating the game.

im quickly writing down the names of all who posted in this thread...you will all then be quietly taken to an open field in front of a firing squad and then shot, the thread starter will be hung in front of everyone in the town square...

Actually, I played the game for about a hour or so. I didn't like it. It felt the same as any other 3D platforming game to me. I guess it just didn't float my boat. I'd play the NES Zelda over the N64 version any day.

I can certainly relate to this thread, particularly with Everquest. While I like the game I find that after 4 years of playing I don't have the desire to log in much anymore. Why? Too much work to do anything of interest. 6 Hour Raids are fun now and again but sometimes I just don't have that kind of time anymore. Diablo II has been my PC gaming staple of late, for its simplicity and its diversity of experience.

I'm 17 and have been gaming since I was 6 (1991). I grew up with the 2D games on the computer. I never really got into the console world when I was a kid (I got a Genesis right when the PSX was hitting it big).

Fast forward to now, I own an XBox, Playstation 1 and computer. I have a couple games for the XBox but I don't have the money to invest into more XBox games. Not to mention I get bored of XBox games easily. I do not have a LIVE-enabled game (traded them all in) and I don't have LIVE either. I do have broadband.

Playstation 1, bleh. I can't play the "graphic intensive" games because they water my eyes. The graphics are so pixelated :P For the non-graphic intensive games such as the Final Fantasy games, I enjoyed them but never get the chance to finish them. They consume too much time and the random battles get tedious and boring after a while.

PC online gaming is where it's at. I haven't played a single player game on the PC (minus sports games) in a long time. The intensity comes from joining a clan and competing on a gaming ladder. You then truly get the sense of teamwork (that's if your clan is organized and is willing to use strategy instead of force). Mic-to-mic communication is also swell (using RogerWilco or Teamspeak). Best of all, it's free (unlike XBox LIVE). The only drawback is having to deal with the 56k people but with todays graphically superior games, 56k people can't play online without getting frustrated at how laggy it is.

it comes and goes for me,luckilly i go from movies to music to video games, and everything tends to come full circle,lately ive been into tv dvds, im sure ill get back to my 3 consoles someday,especially since my roomate but the sonic old school adventure pack,kick ass 2d!

Growing up I had the NES and about a dozen games. I rarely played games but always enjoyed them.

Now as an adult I finally have the cash to support my habit and I'm more into games now then I ever was as a kid. I don't do much PC gaming ( until I get a new PC ) but I do own a GC, PS2, XBOX and GBA. I play now more than I ever used to and I'm happy to be an older gamer and see no end in sight. Thank goodness.

There's no way Zelda 64 could possibly be considered a "3d platformer." There's not even a jump button!

This sure is a crowd of over 20 somethings. Count me in. 27 years old, 40 hour work week, and planning a wedding 2 months away. I have to be selective with my games. I bought Starfox, MechAssault & Tiger Woods at Sam's last month. Played Starfox for a couple of hours, it was okay, switched to Tiger and haven't even opened MA. I've gotten into Tiger, uhh, no sexual connotation there

I'm more in the pase cycle. I was kinda bored with em until I got Metroid Prime. Even then I only played for a few hours a week, then about 8-10 hours in the game something clicked. Not sure what, maybe the fact that I was finally starting to get somewhere. Then I couldn't put it down. That 'few' hours a week turned into 15-20. You can ask my fiance.

I think it is a matter of the right game. There are A LOT of OKAY games but few truly GREAT games.

23 here. 40-60 hours a week. Live with my girl. Love games just as much as when I was younger. I go through a gaming "slump" every January for some reason, but I have finally broken out of it. I have Dark Cloud 2 on pause right now, matter of fact . I bought 4 new games and 8 used games last week, so I have plenty to do .

Hey how did you know? :P Anyways I just thought that the game was too similar to Mario and all the other 3D Nintendo games and I'll just leave it at that. However, Metroid Prime totoally blew me away. Up to the point where you have to go back and find all the artifacts... that was very annoying. But anywho, I just got my xbox live today so can't wait to try that out...time to kick some ass in Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO!

there's simply not enough leisure time to spend it all on videogames. coupled with not enough money, because im no longer in high school or college. i used to play alot of video games cause i didnt have much to worry about...school? eh...

I just recently been firing up Gran Turismo 3 again, played 2 hours a night for 3 nights this week. I am now 21% Complete. hahaa

Although HIGH PRICED new games and overpriced USED games have dampered my buying, I find that I'm getting more fun out of gaming than ever before. Gorgeous games like PANZER DRAGON ORTA on XBOX have blown me away and I can only imagine were the technology is going. I'll be right there with it...if I can afford it

But seriously, now that living on my own I can play as loud and as long as I want.

I love it when I see something like this. No mention of the gameplay, or quality. But if it looks good it must be great!

It is the reason commercials are geared toward this mentality. 'Just show the cut scenes and people will buy it.'
