That thing is unbelievably rare. It also sucks as a game. Most people who buy it are hardcore Dragonball collectors and don't even play it once they get it. I know someone who has a copy mint in wrapping.
As far as the $400 current bid price, I agree, it's a scam.

I sold an old player 2 pink Konami Light Gun for the Sega Genesis for $50 just a couple of weeks ago. I'm shocked sometimes at how much ebay people will pay for stuff.

Some people just carried away, if you do a search for the same exact item, there's probably another item available for a lower price, even a buy it now. It just boggles the mind, or maybe this is just a scam.

I have seen this game get close to $200 on ebay before, but never close to that amount. I don't care if it is brand new, NO video game is worth that type of money.

I agree, it's a scam.
scam - To defraud; swindle.
I have no interest in Dragonball Z, or this game, but this auction is in no way a scam. The seller is not selling a bootleg w/ a vague, intentionally misleading description. The seller isn't even selling information (not really a scam).
The auction has a reserve price (not yet met) and 26 bids.
Calling this auction a "scam" is ridiculous, it bothers me because people that label auctions like this a "scam" most likeley go around discrediting eBay for other false reasons.
You could say "$500 for that game is ridiculous"
I agree that their are scammers on eBay, but this is most certainily not one.

Granted, this guy has a rare game. Hell, some people have even paid close to $130 for it in past auctions. But this auction just doesn't add up.
All it takes is this guy to have 3 friends around the country. Each one places a bid at different times, making it look to the masses that this game is worth $400+
In the last 48 hours of his auction, two of the highest bids have come from people who have either +1, or 0 feedback. In fact, one of those bidders hasn't even been on eBay for the last 2 weeks. His account was made on Feb 1st.
If the above mentioned scenario is true... then it makes this auction a scam. Simple as that.
Then again, maybe people are just bidding stupid.
I'm not trying to discredit eBay. Hell, I make too much money off of it.
But I do smell a scam.

keyser, i see your point, if there are fake bidder, but no one is forcing anyone to bid to $400, they are making that decsion themselves..... if you scenario is true, the item would be up for sale again in a week at a lower price.
