Hmm.. I rechecked mine, and it's now at 2929. If I'm still alive then I should be able to finish up my subscription and win the Thor contest at the same time.

Doh! I run out in July 2003! I need another free subscription!

My Maxim subscription doesn't run out until December 2007.

My question is,did the link come from EGM itself? If it did,I'm calling them up and telling them what happened and that I deserve it for free. And my second question is,if you don't pay for a magazine sub, what happens?I mean,I've never heard of anything happening.

IIRC, the link came from EB, they were footing the bill for the subscriptions.

I e-mailed them before cancelling my subscription, since they said I owed $19.97,even though I signed up on the 1 day we were limited to.Here's the e-mail I recieved:

-----------------------------------
******,

Thank you for notifying us about invoices that you are receiving.

We have researched the problem and have found that you are being billed
for an future renewal subscription order. We have cancelled this
order.

If an additional invoice is received, please disregard it. You will receive
all issues remaining on your current paid subscription .

We apologize for any misunderstanding and appreciate your interest
in our magazine.

Thank you

ss
--------------------------------------------

But when I log into the site,it says I still owe $19.97,but I'm sure it'll change in a couple of business days.So if they say you owe them and you signed up for the deal during the proper time,I'd say e-mail them.
