What is this game about?
Is it a battle arena like Unreal Championship?
or is it an adventure/action game like Halo?

Ok RF1 & RF2 are totally diffrent from each other except there both FPS,some like the first better some like the second one better,RF1 was all one level but RF2 is level based.
RF2 has way more action and better FXs with a way better multi-player game with bots that you can build up for major damage,RF1 had a way better story line and was a bit longer.
IMO there both great,RF1 is only 20 bucks new about 15 used,If I where you id buy RF1 GH and then rent RF2 to see if like.

I would agree, Red Faction is a better single player game, with a much better story. For multiplayer Red Faction 2 is better, and the graphics are better. I much prefer the first game, and it is dirt cheap. Oh, one thing about Red Faction 2 is that it is very, very short. Definitely a rental in my mind.
